Call to Artists Artists in all media are invited to submit work for We hold these truths…American Stories, a juried exhibit to be held at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, Gloucester, MA, July 3-August 9, 2026. They seek artwork in a wide range of approaches, portrait to abstraction, to present visual narratives of what it is to be American now, in all its voices, rich with complexity. We welcome works that critique, affirm or counter our dominant national narratives. American Stories coincides with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with hopes of fostering understanding and appreciation of the multiplicity of American experience and giving visitors a chance to see themselves reflected in it. Poster Design Contest Entries are currently being accepted for the JP Porchfest 2026 Festival Poster Design Contest. The winner will have their design displayed on materials online and throughout Jamaica Plain as well as across the festival and win a Cash Prize of $500. Artists must be 16 and up to participate. Choreography Award The Ellis-Beauregard Foundation is pleased to announce a National $50,000.00 award to a contemporary choreographer. As part of the award the awardee will be required to bring a mini performance or community interface event to the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation Campus FLEX space within a year of the receipt of the award. Within the $50,000 award, the recipient is responsible for all artist fees, travel/transportation to and from Maine, and all production elements. Learn more.

Art Research Residency The Robert Motherwell and Renate Ponsold Research Fellowship is a one-year, low-residency program that supports scholars conducting original research on the visual art and artists of Outer Cape Cod. Fellows utilize PAAM’s collections, archives, and research resources to develop projects that contribute to the scholarly understanding of the region’s cultural history. By the conclusion of the fellowship, recipients are expected to present their findings in a public lecture and produce a publishable academic paper. Projects that broaden and diversify scholarship on Provincetown art and artists are strongly encouraged. Learn more.

Boston Public Library’s Writer-in-Residence The Associates of the Boston Public Library’s Alan Andres Writer-in-Residence program is designed for emerging authors writing for children or young-adults. The winner will receive a total stipend of $70,000, paid in monthly installments over one year. The Writer-in-Residence also receives a private office at the prestigious Boston Public Library from October 2026 through September 2027, access to funds for coaching/editing, and other benefits. Photographers EXPOSURE 2026, the Photographic Resource Center’s 30th Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition, is now accepting submissions. Juried by Audrey Lee Sands, Richard L. Menschel Associate Curator of Photography Harvard Art Museums. This is an open-theme call. Twelve photographers will be selected to exhibit three works each. Black Trans Women Visual Artists Grant The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists sheds light on the under-recognized contributions of Black trans women visual artists and provides critical support to their continuing work. Developed and named in partnership with Mariette Pathy Allen, Aaryn Lang, and Serena Jara, this grant supports visual artists who are self-identified Black trans women and awards $10,000 to the winner and $1,250 to distinguished finalists. Judges for the 2026 grant cycle will be announced soon. Qualified artists must be self-identified Black trans women and trans femmes working in visual art and based in the United States. Learn more.

Women Figurative Realist Painters Award Applications are currently being accepted for the Bennett Prize (2026/2027 Award Cycle) for women figurative realist painters. The grand prize winner receives $75,000 and a solo exhibition. The first runner-up receives $10,000.
