Artist Opportunities Brush With Greatness

Of Note: Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellowship applications in Drawing & Printmaking, Poetry, Traditional Arts now available. Fellows awarded $12,000 each and Finalists will receive $1,000 awards (contingent upon final state budget approval). The deadline is October 2, 2017. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Massachusetts Horticultural Society invites artists to be a part of its 3rd Annual Arts on the Green Evening at The Gardens at Elm Bank in Wellesley on Wednesday September 13th, 5:00 – 7:30 pm. Arts on the Green event was rescheduled due to inclement weather. Visitors will wander the gardens, enjoy live music, and stroll through our Art Walk at this free event. There will also be activities, tours and refreshments. Artists are invited to participate in the Art Walk in their gardens — display your work, offer your work for sale, and/or showcase your talents en plein air. Learn more. Call to Artists The Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham is holding their Annual Open Arts Juried Show. From photography to oils; landscapes to abstracts, they welcome all mediums and subjects. They created this show to let the artists in their community experiment with unlimited range and to share the amazing artistic talent found in the MetroWest neighborhoods. The guest judges were chosen by their wide range of mediums and for their involvement with the arts community. Our Judges include Sarah Alexander, Lisa Barthelson, and Rebecca Skinner. Learn more.

Craft Artists  Applications are currently being accepted for CraftBoston 2018. The twice-annual show features one-of-a-kind and limited edition baskets, ceramics, decorative fiber wearables, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, and wood. Learn more.

Call for Artists Smack Melon is currently accepting entries for their fall 2017 exhibition Uproot. The exhibition will form around curated artworks, artifacts, objects, mandates, proposals, performances, and public programs. In collaboration with curators, collectives, and artists they will directly consider artwork and public programs that address: social justice issues, earth justice issues, creative action, and the future of the arts. Creative Arts Fellowships Fellowships of up to $77,500 each, office space at the Radcliffe Institute, and access to the libraries at Harvard University are given annually to artists in a variety of disciplines to allow them to pursue their creative projects, in the 2018/2019 academic year. Applications accepted from artists in creating writing, performing arts, music, film/video, and visual arts. Learn more.

Fiction Writers Dzanc Books Prize for Fiction is currently accepting entries. A prize of $10,000 and publication by Dzanc Books is given annually for a novel. Lindsey Drager, Daniel A. Hoyt, and Chrissy Kolaya will judge. Learn more.

Artist Professional Development Grant The Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston is now accepting applications for the Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship. The program includes personalized goal setting, one-on-one coaching, skills-training seminars, a stipend for business-related purchases, and an opportunity to showcase work at a capstone event. Call for Artists ArtScape in West Concord, MA, is accepting entries for their Spring 2017 Objects In Motion. This juried competition is open to all including students. All media are welcome! They will also award prizes from Pitch Black Editions, a fine art printing + frame shop at Bradford Mill, W Concord. Learn more.

Chamber Music Residency Partnership Program The Residency Partnership Program supports professional ensembles and presenters in building audiences for small ensemble music through residency projects. The program funds activities that take place in community settings and that are not part of a regular concert series. Grant support of up to $6,000 is available; residencies must take place within a one-month period. Applicants must be Chamber Music America members.
