Of Note: The Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston is hosting the free event, Living the Artist’s Life: An Evening with Paul Dorrell on Monday, November 12, 2012 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at the Boston Society for Architects, 290 Congress Street, Second Floor, Boston, MA. Women Poets Barnard College offers a biennial Women Poets Prize of of $1,500 and publication by Norton for a second poetry collection. The prize is open to U.S. women poets who have already published a book-length poetry collection in an edition of 500 copies or more. Learn more.

Photography Bridgewater State University is currently accepting entries for a photography exhibition. Mixed media works incorporating photography, installations, photo collage both digital and handmade, works using historic processes in photography, manipulated photographs, photo-grams, pinhole photography, toy camera images, and images staged to be photographed are accepted. Glass Artists The Corning Museum of Glass is accepting applications for their studio residency program. Transportation, as well as room and board, will be arranged for those invited to participate. All basic supplies will be provided, and the facility will be made available whenever classes are not in session. Residents will have access to the Rakow Research Library and the collection of The Corning Museum of Glass. Learn more.

Performing Artists/Filmmakers The Mead Theatre Lab in Washington, DC, is currently accepting applications for their intensive program for performing artists and independent theatre companies, musicians, dancers, choreographers, and filmmakers, as well as producers and arts organizations presenting performing arts in any genres, with an emphasis on work that explores provocative new ideas. The program provides fifteen weeks of theatre space, production management support, and mentoring. Learn more.

Public Art The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy in downtown Boston, Massachusetts seeks artists’ and multi-disciplinary artist led teams’ qualifications. Up to three artists will be selected by year-end and awarded $5,500 stipends to develop proposals for a temporary, site-specific, light-based, winter art installation on the Greenway in 2014. This opportunity is open to artists internationally. Learn more.

Exhibition Proposals Artspace in New Haven, CT, is now accepting proposals for six-week exhibitions in 2013-2014 in their Project Room. All media accepted. Learn more.
