We are proud to share that eight Mass Cultural Council-funded apprenticeship teams will be demonstrating at the Lowell Folk Festival from July 28-30, 2023.
Attendees to the free festival in Lowell, MA can experience traditions including Chinese papercutting, Nipmuc wampum and tanning, Dominican Carnaval mask-making, Uyghur calligraphy, and more.
Mass Cultural Council Folk Arts and Heritage Manager Maggie Holtzberg appeared on NBC10 Boston to discuss the festival and the importance of sustaining these cultural traditions.
