Greater Boston Visual Artists The Collective Futures Fund is currently accepting applications. The fund supports public-facing projects by visual artists, curators, and collectives in the Greater Boston area through grants between $2,000 and $6,000. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Boston Mayor’s Office of Food Justice (OFJ) invites artists to apply to work with OFJ on two art installations. OFJ will engage community residents in conversations around food justice and decreasing stigma around food resources. Artists will reflect these conversations as two public visual art installations at food access and growing sites. This Call to Artists is open to all artists at least 18 years of age with a strong preference for artists that currently live, work, or organize in Boston. Learn more.

Craft Artists Grants Applications for CERF+’s Get Ready Grants are now available. CERF+’s Get Ready Grants award up to $500 to individual artists working in craft disciplines to conduct activities that will help safeguard their studios, protect their careers, plan their legacies and prepare for emergencies. With this cycle, we will continue to support the continuing changes and skill acquisition that artists need to work in these pandemic and post pandemic times. Artists are encouraged to use the Risk Assessment activity to generate ideas. Learn more.

Filmmakers Fellowship The American Stories Documentary Fellowship will support five filmmaking teams from underrepresented backgrounds making creative, cinematic and character-driven documentaries about modern America. Fellows will receive a $10,000 grant to support production or post-production costs. From September 11-18, they’ll participate in an immersive, creative retreat on the coast of Maine, where they’ll workshop their stories with experienced mentors and industry leaders in the week leading up to the Camden International Film Festival. Fellows will also have opportunities to participate in industry meetings during CIFF and a virtual market following the festival. Learn more.

Documentary Filmmakers The Documentary Development Initiative is a new partnership between The Gotham and HBO Documentary Films. The program is created for storytellers who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or storytellers with disabilities. The program’s intent is to provide resources to develop thought-provoking, character-driven contemporary ideas for documentary films and limited series. Up to 10 selected filmmakers will be given grants of $50,000 for research and creative development at an early stage. Learn more.

Musicians Roslindale Porch Fest is a free music festival featuring bands and musicians on porches and in yards across the neighborhood. It features all genres of music, with performers of all ages – ranging from professional musicians to student groups. Learn more.

Furniture Fellowship The Society of Arts and Crafts administers the John D. Mineck Furniture Fellowship, a prestigious, annual cash award of $25,000. The fellowship is intended to support an early-career furniture artist looking to fulfill an apprenticeship, further develop their skills, and/or make the transition to independence. Learn more.

NEW: Mass Cultural Council’s Cultural Sector Recovery Grants for Individuals are unrestricted $5,000 grants to creatives and gig workers to support recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and set a path for growth. Read the program guidelines. Key dates for this program include:
