Fiber artist Adrienne Sloane‘s recent work, The Unraveling, is a hand-knit flag hung against the backdrop of the Constitution. Sloane is unraveling the flag in the timeline of the current administration so that the historic document is progressively revealed. She is committed to continuing to show and unravel this flag, stopping only should the administration end prematurely or after four years when there will be nothing left of the flag.
The project recently exhibited at the New Bedford Art Museum and the Fuller Craft Museum (see a video from the Fuller Craft exhibition). The artist has created postcards featuring the work and encourages people interested in integrating the postcards into political campaigns to contact her.
Find out more about this project and about the artist’s other work on her artist’s website.
