Workshop for Pittsfield Area Artists Assets for Artists is offering a workshop for Pittsfield area artists Making a Plan in a Time of Uncertainty with Laura Baring-Gould on Saturday, June 15, 2024 (in person) at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, 28 Renne Ave, Pittsfield, MA, and on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM (in Zoom). This is 2-part series (4 hours in person + 2 hours online). Artists are asked to attend both sessions. Learn more.

Public Artists/Artist Teams Denver Public Art seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create original public artwork(s) for the Theodora Family Hotel in Denver, CO. A 10-member selection panel of community representatives, arts and design professionals, and civic leaders has been assembled to identify art opportunities and to select and recommend an artist or artist team for this project. The selection panel has identified a location for potential artworks and will select one artist or artist team for the allocated total budget of approximately USD $245,000.00. Denver Public Art will host a virtual pre-application meeting on Wednesday, May 29, 5:30-6:30 p.m. for interested applicants. Learn more.

City of Boston Opportunity Fund The Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture’s Opportunity Fund is offering $3,000 grants to individual creative workers to increase their community impact in Boston by: uplifting artists’ publicly accessible creative projects; furthering access to artists’ trainings that will increase their community impact; and/or bolstering artists’ civic engagement and leadership. Recipients of the Opportunity Fund will be selected through a weighted lottery process, with priority given to performing artists; individuals from low income backgrounds and/or individuals who are currently experiencing financial insecurity; and creative workers who live in the following neighborhoods: Chinatown, Dorchester, East Boston, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Mission Hill, and Roxbury. The application takes just 15 minutes to complete. Learn more.

Craft Innovation Jumpstarter Program The goal of the Society’s Craft Innovation Jumpstarter Program is to financially support craft artists who are pursuing ideas in their studio practice that represent something new for them. When craft artists are ready to bring their solutions and innovations to the next stage, however, they often lack the necessary funds to make investments toward their new direction. The goal of the Society of Arts + Crafts is to assist artists to bridge this gap. Learn more.

Call for Artists, Exhibitors Applications are  currently being accepted for the Boston Art Book Fair 2024 (Nov. 1–3, 2024) to take place at the Cyclorama of Boston Center for the Arts. The event will include both with artists and exhibitors working with printed material and multiples in many forms. Learn more.

Fund for Greater Boston Visual Artists Applications are currently being accepted for the Collective Futures Fund. The Collective Futures Fund supports visual artists and artist-run activity in the Greater Boston area through grants of $2,000 and $7,500. Learn more.

Short Stories Grist has an open submissions for the fourth year for their Imagine 2200: Climate Fiction for Future Ancestors short story contest. The winning writer will be awarded $3,000. The second- and third-place winners receive $2,000 and $1,000, respectively. An additional nine finalists will each receive $300. All winners and finalists will have their story published in an immersive collection on Grist’s website. Learn more.

Exhibition Proposal Series Gallery 263 is currently accepting exhibition proposals from artists and curators. At least 50% of work submitted for review must be from the last two years. Group and solo exhibitions of all media are welcome. Entries may either be existing or proposed work. Learn more.
