
Cross-Sector Resource: Professional Development Training for Native Artists and Culture Bearers First Peoples Fund’s Native Artist Professional Development (NAPD) trainings give artists real-world tools and detailed resources to navigate the arts industry and become successful entrepreneurs. Boston Area Visual Artist Awards Artadia is now accepting applications for the 2025 Boston Artadia Awards from all visual artists who have lived and worked within Bristol, Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, and Suffolk Counties for a minimum of two years. Individual artists and collaboratives working in all visual media and at any stage in their career are strongly encouraged to apply. Awardees will be selected through a two-tier jury process that employs a panel of leading curators in the fall of 2025. Artadia Awardees are selected through a two-tier jury process that combines local expertise with outside perspective from leading curators. A preliminary panel will evaluate all online submissions and select six Finalists in late-September. A second panel will conduct virtual studio visits with each Finalist, gaining a broader context for the artists’ work. Of the Finalists, the jurors will designate three artists to receive awards of $15,000 in unrestricted funds. Learn more.

Guggenheim Fellowships The Guggenheim Fellowship is an annual competition celebrating exceptional achievements in the arts, sciences, and humanities. Roughly 190 Fellowships are awarded each year. The Guggenheim Fellowship supports individuals who have achieved notable success in their careers across the creative arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. It is designed for mid-career professionals whose work is well-established. Potential Fellows have already made significant contributions to their field and are eager for time and resources that will allow them to further their meaningful work. Slavery North Artist-In-Residence/Research Fellow Slavery North Initiative at UMass Amherst has artist-in-residence opportunities for the 2026-27 Academic Year. Artist Residency Applications are currently being accepted for the Vermont Studio Center’s Artist Residency program in Johnson, VT. This open call will fill residencies from June 27, 2026 to December 17, 2026. Applications are juried together in a pool by a rotating jury of practicing artists and writers. Call for Art The James Library & Center for the Arts 2025 Annual Fall Juried Show. The James is the oldest library in Norwell and is located on the village green, adjacent to the historic Kent House and First Parish of Norwell. The three-story building stands as one of the few examples of Victorian architecture in the Norwell National Register Historic District. Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program (SIFP) The Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) and its Renwick Gallery invite applications to its premier fellowship program, the oldest and largest in the world for the study of American art. Scholars from any discipline whose research engages the art, craft, and visual culture of the United States are encouraged to apply, as are those who foreground new perspectives, materials, and methodologies. Fellowships are residential and support full-time research in the Smithsonian collections. Local Cultural Council Grants Applications for LCC grants are now available. This year Mass Cultural Council will invest $5.7 million into the Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program, the nation’s largest grassroots cultural funding network. Busking Musicians Live Music at Logan pilot program has been extended through to the end of 2025. The program features Massachusetts musicians performing live at the Terminal B and C baggage claim areas of Boston Logan Airport, one of the top 20 busiest airports in the country. Mass Cultural Council is pleased to partner with Massport on the program. Apply by November 15, 2025 to be considered for the performance series.
Call to Printmakers The Boston Printmakers 2026 North American Print Biennial (September 8–November 21, 2026) at 808 Gallery, Boston University.
