Poets The American Poetry Review is currently accepting entries for their Stanley Kunitz Memorial Prize. The prize of $1,000 and publication in American Poetry Review will be given annually for a poem by a poet under the age of 40. Learn more.

Poets The Academy of American Poets is currently accepting entries for their Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize. The prize of $25,000 is given annually for a poetry collection by a living U.S. poet published in the United States during the previous year. Marie Howe, A. Van Jordan, and Donald Revell will judge. Learn more.

Emerging Writers Ploughshares Emerging Writer’s Contest offers three prizes of $1,000 each and publication in Ploughshares for a poem or group of poems, a short story, and an essay. Writers who have not published a book or chapbook are eligible. Learn more.

Art on Paper The Rocky Neck Art Colony, Gloucester MA, seeks work for Printed, Painted, Folded or Torn, a juried exhibition of New England Artists that explores the possibilities and pushes the limits of the use of paper in works of art. Artists working in New England are eligible with work produced within the past 4 years,that has not been shown in Gloucester and will be delivered in person. Application Fee $35/3. Emerging Artist Residency Fellowship One fellowship is awarded annually by the Harpo Foundation to an emerging visual artist over 25, who demonstrates strong artistic ability and promise, as well as an evolving practice that is at a pivotal moment in its development. Artist fellows will receive a one-month residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute that includes a room with private bath; a well-lit studio space; and a $500 travel stipend. Learn more.

Call for Artists The Northampton Arts Council invites submissions for their 2015 Biennial Exhibition, to be held at Forbes Library’s Hosmer Gallery from October 2 through October 30 2015. The Arts Council Biennial is a juried art show with free entry open to artists from Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Berkshire counties. The theme, Motion-Emotion, can be interpreted freely, and all two and three-dimensional art in any style, as well as video and performance art will be considered. The Arts Council encourages submissions of large three-dimensional and performance weather-tolerant art for the outdoor exhibition space on the Forbes Library lawn. Learn more.
