Artist in Residence Program The Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) is extending a call for artists for the pilot 2025-2026 Mystic River Artist in Residence Program. This is a paid 14 month opportunity–open to all artists. The program will take place between January 2025 and spring 2026, beginning with an exploratory phase during which the artist will be embedded in MyRWA’s organization to get to know our work, our watershed, and our communities. During the exploratory phase, artists will be paid up to $25,000. An additional $115,000 will be available for the implementation phase, which includes artist fees and supply costs. The artist will then work to implement the creative project within the watershed. Throughout the residency, MyRWA and the artist will work to involve the community in the creative process. Call for Art Entries are currently being accepted for 5th Annual Joan. L Dunfey open juried exhibit Resilience at the Levy Gallery, Portsmouth, NH. They welcome submissions in all mediums and styles, from representational to abstract, and encourage artists to push the boundaries of traditional interpretations. The submission fee is waived for Artists Under 30 courtesy of an anonymous donor. The juror is Devon Zimmerman, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. Local Cultural Council Grants Every community in Massachusetts is served by a Local Cultural Council (LCC), led by municipally appointed volunteers who administer an annual grant program to support local cultural projects. Individuals, groups, and organizations may apply. Grant amounts vary and applications are submitted directly to each LCC. Learn more.

Call for Exhibition Proposals Gallery 263 invites artists and curators to pitch an exhibition for late fall 2024 and bring your vision to life. Organize and present a well-curated exhibition of contemporary art from start to finish, with guidance and support from Gallery 263 staff. Open to New England artists of all media types and career levels. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) invites artists to submit work for inclusion in Ornament, a members’ juried exhibition at the Cultural Center and online at RNACexhibitions.com. RNAC invites artists to submit work that embodies ideas and elements of “Ornament.” This may be reflected in style, subject matter, mood, materials, method of execution or in whatever way the artist chooses. In addition to works recognizable as ornaments themselves, we welcome art that explores the many ways and reasons why humans (or other species!) practice embellishment – of our bodies, personal spaces, vehicles, etc. Craft (single objects or multiples) is welcome and artists are encouraged to consider this an opportunity for holiday sales, with work priced accordingly. Grants for Creative Individuals This program aims to equitably advance creative expression throughout the Commonwealth with unrestricted grants to Massachusetts artists, culture bearers, and creative individuals. Grants are $5,000. Learn more.

Next Steps for Boston Dance Program Designed to support original, innovative, and risk-taking artistic ventures to nurture and grow the careers of choreographers, Next Steps for Boston Dance responds to the needs of dance artists and circus artists working in multiple genres to have the flexibility to push creative boundaries, work in dedicated spaces, and have mentorship and/or skill development opportunities. Six to seven grants will be awarded to artists with an emphasis on including a variety of genres. Selected Artists will be at different career stages: at the beginning of a professional career, mid-career, and well-established. We strongly encourage all artists to apply. Learn more.

Kolaj Institute’s Artist Development Program is a collection of three core workshops for self-motivated artists, at any stage in their career, who want to develop and expand their collage-based artist practice and work towards professional goals, particularly in the areas of exhibitions and publishing. Learn more.

Grants for Craft Artists Applications for CERF+ Get Ready Grants for Craft Artists are now open. The CERF+ grants provide up to $1,000 to individual artists working in craft disciplines to carry out activities that will help secure their studios, protect their businesses, plan their legacies, and prepare for emergencies. Loewe Foundation Craft Prize The Loewe Foundation Craft Prize seeks to acknowledge and support international artisans of any age (over 18) or gender who demonstrate an exceptional ability to create objects of superior aesthetic value. By identifying work that reinterprets existing knowledge to make it relevant today while reflecting its maker’s personal language and distinct hand, the Loewe Foundation aims to highlight the continuing contribution of craft to the culture of our time. The Prize for the winning entry is 50,000 euros. The winning work selected by the Jury, as well as the works of the finalists selected by the Experts Panel will be included in an exhibition and accompanying catalogue. Read the Rules of Entry and make sure you comply with all requirements. Entries may be made by an individual or collective (as a ‘group submission’). All nationalities are welcome. Learn more.

Call for Temporary Public Art by Emerging Artists The City of Somerville, through the Somerville Arts Council (SAC), invites emerging artists (or a group of artists working as a team) to submit project concepts to be considered for a commission to create a temporary public artwork. This opportunity is funded in partnership with the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) Making it Public Program. $750 for Finalists.  $15,000 Selected Project budget. Learn more.

Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans This fellowship supports thirty New Americans— immigrants or the children of immigrants—who are pursuing graduate or professional school in the U.S. Each Fellowship supports one to two years of graduate study in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program in the U.S. up to a total of $90,000. Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant The Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant is a prize of $5,000 sponsored by the National Sculpture Society. It is awarded annually to a sculptor who has demonstrated outstanding ability as a sculptor and who has created a body of work inspired by nature which includes works of sculpture in the round and in bas-relief. The Bleifeld Grant is for a mature body of work; sculpture created in workshop or instructional settings should not be submitted. Learn more.

Public Art for Spatial Justice Public Art for Spatial Justice (PASJ) provides grants of $15,000 to $30,000 to support public artmaking in Massachusetts that helps us see, feel, experience and imagine spatial justice now, while we are still on this journey towards realizing more just futures for our public spaces and public culture. Call to Curators The Teiger Foundation offers grants for US-based, curator-led initiatives in contemporary visual art. We support group exhibitions, single-artist surveys, participatory and community-engaged art projects, digital exhibitions, live and virtual performance in the context of the visual arts, and as-yet-unknown curatorial forms involving contemporary visual art and artists. Projects must be open to the public between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2027. Learn more.

Performing Artists Grants USArtists International supports in-person performances by artists from any state or territory in the U.S. at engagements at international festivals, global presenting arts markets, and other eligible engagements outside of the United States.
