Call to Artists The Newburyport Art Association invites you to submit to the 25th Annual Regional Juried Show. Their largest, most prestigious exhibition is celebrating its 25th anniversary. This show attracts artists from throughout New England, and both members and non-members are eligible to submit! This year’s juror is Emma Wilson. Up to 3 submissions per person. Learn more.

Call for Artists The Spartanburg Art Museum in South Carolina is seeking proposals for solo and group exhibitions for 2023 and beyond. They’re interested in all types of work that address contemporary issues and concerns, use traditional materials in unique ways, and elevate our visitors’ experiences to new levels of participation and engagement. Any individual, collective, group of artists, or guest curator (ages 18+) who reside in the United States may apply. All media and themes of contemporary art will be considered for exhibition. Artists and collectives/groups may submit a full exhibition concept, a cohesive body of work, or a portfolio for general consideration. Guest curators are also considered. Learn more.

Award for Female-Identified Visual Artist The Davis Museum at Wellesley College is proud to announce the return of the biennial Prilla Smith Brackett Award. The inaugural award was bestowed in September 2019, and due to the global pandemic, the second iteration was postponed until 2022. The award honors an outstanding female-identified visual artist based in the Greater Boston area. To be eligible, applicants must: live in the Greater Boston area (all towns east of Interstate 495); identify as female (including cis women, trans women, femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer, and non-binary folks); work in the mediums of painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, film, video, and/or new media arts. Artists at any career stage beyond the first five years of professional practice and of all ages, sexual orientations, and racial, ethnic, national, and religious identities are encouraged to apply. The review process will identify three finalists for a studio visit by the jury members, a crucial step in determining the ultimate award recipient. Application guidelines for the Prilla Smith Brackett Award will be available on Friday, April 15, 2022 via the Davis Museum website. The application portal goes live on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Documentary Filmmakers The LEF Moving Image Fund is now accepting applications for its Early Development and Pre-Production grants. LEF grants are open to New England-based directors or producers seeking funding for long format (40+ minute) non fiction film projects. Learn more.

Greater Boston Visual Artists The Collective Futures Fund is currently accepting applications. The fund supports public-facing projects by visual artists, curators, and collectives in the Greater Boston area through grants between $2,000 and $6,000. Learn more.

Photographers Innovate Grant awards (2) $550.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. In addition, (4) honorable mentions (2 in art and 2 in photo), will be featured and recognized on our website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists. Innovate Grant’s commitment extends beyond the grant cycle by promoting the work of selected winners and honorable mentions into the future. Visual Artists and Photographers 18 years and older, from all around the world, are eligible to apply. All media and genres are accepted. All applicants retain the right to the work they submit. Fiction Writers Entries are currently being accepted for the 2023 Saturday Evening Post’s Great American Fiction Contest. Winner receives $1,000 and publication in January/February 2023 issue of the Post; 5 runners-up receive $200 and publication online. Entries should represent the highest quality fiction, regardless of genre. Learn more.

Call to Artists Entries are being accepted for Voyage, a national juried exhibition at Arc Gallery, in San Francisco, CA. “We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson Arc Gallery is seeking works related to the subject matter of “voyage.” This can be a documentation or a memory of a trip taken, the anticipation of a voyage, a trip to an imagined destination, a wandering without a specific destination in mind, the act of travel, modes of travel, or various phases of a voyage. This may also encompass the various passages of one’s life, a path of discovery, or an exploration of one’s mind. Learn more.
