Of Note: Grants for Artists, Culture Bearers, Creative Individuals The Mass Cultural Council’s Grants for Creative Individuals program aims to equitably advance creative expression throughout the Commonwealth with unrestricted grants to Massachusetts artists, culture bearers, and creative individuals. Youth Writers, Poets The deadline to apply for Boston’s next Youth Poet Laureate (ages 13-19) is today. The Boston Youth Poet Laureate is equal parts artist, performer, leader, and advocate, with a tenacity to use poetry and the arts to amplify youth voices and inspire the city. Learn more.

Photographers The Griffin Museum of Photography has announced their members Winter Solstice Members Exhibition. This annual celebration highlights the medium of photography in all of its forms. Exhibition dates: December 5, 2025 – January 4, 2026. The exhibit will be held in the main gallery. Learn more.

New Grant: Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and the Age Strong Commission announced the launch of a new “Age Strong Rolling Grants” program designed to better support community organizations and individuals working with older adults age 55+ in Boston. Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded on a rolling basis, with recipients announced at least every two months. Learn more and apply.

Creative Entrepreneurship Fellowship In collaboration with the Arts Action Consortium, The Arts and Business Council of Greater Boston is pleased to announce the Creative Entrepreneurship Fellowship. The Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship (CEF) is designed to accelerate the careers and practice of a diverse group of artists and creative solopreneurs. CEF is a customized professional development experience for 8-10 individuals who are selected through a competitive application process. The program kicks off in December 2025 and runs through June 2026. Learn more.

Residency for Papermaking, Book Arts, and Printing Applications are currently being accepted for the The Morgan Conservatory – Artist in Residence Program 2026. Explore papermaking, book arts, and letterpress printing at the nation’s largest center dedicated to these crafts. This residency supports both emerging and established artists with time, space, and a stipend. Learn more.

Tribal Cultural Council Program Led by tribally appointed volunteers who administer an annual grant program to support local cultural projects that provide benefit to the tribal communities. Individuals, groups, and organizations may apply. Grant amounts vary, and applications are submitted directly to each Tribal Cultural Council. Learn more.

Call to Artists Mother Brook Arts and Community Center in Dedham is pleased to announce a call to artists for the Winter Open Studios exhibition “Small Works Sale.” All visual and multimedia arts are welcome. Call for Gallery Members The Kingston Gallery in Boston, MA, is now accepting Full Membership applications. Applications are reviewed by all Kingston Gallery Members. If accepted, membership begins on January 1, 2026. Kingston Gallery is one of the longest-running art cooperatives in New England, with the mission to support, nurture and showcase a wide array of contemporary art in all media. Professional Development Pricing Your Art and Creative Work | Art & Hustle Workshop on October 8, 2025 from 5-7pm. The Harvard Ed Portal connects the Allston-Brighton community with Harvard University, offering free programs and events for people of all ages.  Sara Hartmann, a faculty of Massachusetts College of Art and Design, will explore key considerations, practical frameworks, and best practices for calculating your prices, alongside strategies for understanding customer price sensitivity and buyer behavior. Learn how to avoid the common traps of underpricing or working solely for “exposure,” ensuring your efforts are properly compensated.  Learn more.

MASS MoCA Residencies Application are currently open for the Studios at MASS MoCA Residencies in North Adams, MA. Fellowships and financial aid are available. They welcome applications from artists at all career stages, income levels, and geographic locations. They primarily seek applications from visual artists (painters, sculptors, installation artists, photographers, video/new media artists, fiber artists, printmakers, etc.) and writers in all literary disciplines. Call to Artists The Hopper Prize is accepting submissions for Fall 2025 artist grants. For this open call, grants have been increased to $4,500. They will be providing 6 grants totaling $13,000 USD. 2 artists will each receive $4,500 and 4 artists will each receive $1,000. All visual art media is eligible. Learn more.

Cross-Sector Resource Boston’s Age Strong Commission offers a variety of free programming across neighborhoods for older residents age 55+, including Tuesdays and Thursdays at Spontaneous Celebrations, 45 Danforth Street in Jamaica Plain. Folks are encouraged to register for the classes, but drop-ins are always welcome. Learn more.
