Call to Artists SlowArt Productions presents the thematic exhibition Strange Figurations. The exhibition will be held at the Limner Gallery, October 12 – November 5, 2022. This exhibition is open to all interpretations of the concept, Strange Figurations. Included are all forms of surreal, visionary and extraordinary figurative art. All interpretations of the theme “Strange Figurations” will be reviewed and considered. Learn more.

Call to Artists Till Wave Gallery in Arlington, MA, is accepting entries for  Tiny Art Showcase, Summer 2022 Exhibition (July 21 – September 9, 2022). Only tiny art will be considered. Wow us with your tiny creations! Paintings, photos, sculptures ~ whatever, so long as it’s tiny! 4×4 inch art, or smaller, is preferred, will consider up to 6×6 inch. This show is open to all artists/creators of all media. Both solo and collaborative works may be submitted. Please submit all works in JPEG format to tillartwave@tillinc.org. You may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. Include your name, address, phone number, title of artwork, price, medium & dimensions of each work along with an artist statement. Artwork may be for sale or on loan. There is a 25% gallery commission on all sales. Opening Reception: Thursday, July 21, 2022 4-7pm. Exhibition Dates: July 21 – September 9, 2022

Free Online Workshop for Artists Instagram Basics: Build a Following, Increase Engagement, and Understand Analytics w/ Francesca Olsen
Thursday, July 7, 2022 | 2 – 4 p.m. From MASS MoCA’s Assets for Artists presented in partnership with the Mass Cultural Council.
Instagram is a visual social media platform with over a billion monthly active users. The workshop will begin with an informational presentation and then shift into a Q&A discussion to work through specific challenges participants are facing in their own engagement. Artists will leave with direct action steps and a copy of Francesca’s “IG Best Practices for Creatives.” Francesca Olsen is a writer, musician, textile artist, and digital marketing consultant based in the Berkshires. Best suited for artists of all disciplines who currently have 3,000 followers or fewer. Learn more and register.

Filmmakers The ITVS Diversity Development Fund gives directors of color up to $35,000 in research and development funding so that they can develop their documentary for public media. The documentary can be on any subject, viewpoint, or style as long as it is in development or pre-production. Diversity Development Fund is not a grant. You will receive funding in the form of a development agreement that assigns ITVS certain rights over your project during the term of the contract. Learn more.

Call for Visual Artists The Firehouse Center for the Arts (Newburyport, MA) is currently accepting proposals from emerging and established artists for its upcoming exhibition season. Artists will be selected by blind review for solo monthly exhibits from October 2022 – September 2023. Only 2D wall-hung artwork is eligible. A proposal includes a Submission Form; bio/resume; Artist Statement; 10-20 jpeg images of proposed artwork; and Image List. Learn more.

Call to Artists Gallery 263 invites artists based in the United States to submit work for “A Long Line” that considers familial connections, whether the representation is genealogical or more broadly defined. The juror, Erika b Hess, is host of I like Your Work, a painter, and a curator. All visual and performance media (2D, 3D, time-based) will be considered. Learn more.

NEW: Mass Cultural Council’s Cultural Sector Recovery Grants for Individuals are unrestricted $5,000 grants to creatives and gig workers to support recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and set a path for growth. Read the program guidelines. Key dates for this program include:

Call to Artists “Destination:Nature 2022” invites all Massachusetts artists (acrylic, oil, watercolor, gouache, pastel, drawing, photography, digital art, fiber art, sculpture) inspired by nature to participate in this show centered on protected lands in Harvard, Massachusetts.     I’m a Painter, I wanted to know if you have any space for any 16×20 art pieces . Or larger. I have 20 pieces and would love to display them .
