How to Register in Our System as an Individual

For the 2022 grant cycle, Mass Cultural Council has moved to a new application/grants management system.

If you have applied for individual grants from Mass Cultural Council in previous years (for example, Artist Fellowships or the COVID-19 Relief Fund for Individuals), we have most likely started an account for you in the new system (using the same email account). Here’s how to check:

Go to massculturalcouncil.smartsimple.com
Click “Forgot Password”
Enter your email address.

If you receive an automatic email reply from our system, open the email, click the link, and create a new 8-digit password. (If the email is not in your Inbox, check your spam/junk email folder to make sure that the email was not sent there.)

Click “My Profile” and complete all the mandatory fields, including optional demographic information. Be sure to “Save User Profile.”

If you do not receive an automatic email within five minutes (you should check in your spam/junk email folder to make sure), that means we haven’t started an account for you in our new system. You will need to create a new registration.

To register as a new user in our system:
Go to massculturalcouncil.smartsimple.com
Click Register.
Select “Individual.”
Provide your contact information and optional demographic questions.
Enter the required fields and submit the registration.

Once you have completed and SAVED your User Profile
Click “Home” in upper right corner to get to the application portal.
Click “Current Opportunities.”
Find the application you want to apply to and click “Apply Now.”
