Creative Entrepreneurialism Business Resources for Creatives & Entrepreneurs, a curated list of state and local resources for small businesses from Mass Cultural Council.

Call to Artists  The New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA) invites artists to respond to themes of extraterrestrial imagery, cultural mythology, archival storytelling, and the fear or fascination with the unknown for their upcoming exhibition. Submissions may explore alien narratives as metaphor, address marginalization/cultural alienation, explore insider/outsider perspectives, or embrace “otherness” as a source of uniqueness, connection, and meaning. Fee: NHAA & Portsmouth Historical Society Members: $20 for 1 entry/$25 for 2/$30 for 3 Non-Members: $40 for 1 entry/$45 for 2/$50 for 3. All submission fees are waived for Artists Under 30 courtesy of an anonymous donor.  Learn more.

Call for Muralists BLKOUT Walls has a call for Artists to bring a mural festival to Roxbury in June 2026. Each artist will be paid for their work plus lodging, meals, and transportation.

Artist Residency The MacDowell is an artist residency program located in the small town of Peterborough, New Hampshire.  Artists-in-residence need to be comfortable with a degree of solitude and disconnection from the outside world. Studios are comfortably furnished with the artists’ needs in mind. A MacDowell Fellowship consists of exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for two to eight weeks. There are no residency fees. Artists are responsible for materials and travel expenses. MacDowell encourages applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics. Application fee $30. Learn more.

Call to Artists Gallery 9 at Custom Art Framing in Norwood is accepting entries for their exhibition GREEN. 2D works under 16×20” and 3D works under 12x12x12” are encouraged and will be juried. Submission fee: $5. Learn more.

Cultural Leader Fellowship Program The Mandel Cultural Leadership Program is a two-year fellowship designed to support artists in honing their visions for creative and social impact, developing their capacity as agents of change in the Jewish community and broader society. Learn more.

Call to Printmakers The Boston Printmakers 2026 North American Print Biennial is open to artists residing in North America. Exhibition dates September 8– November 21, 2026 at the 808 Gallery, Boston University. Juror: Esther Adler, Curator in the Dept. of Drawings and Prints at the Museum of Modern Art. $10,000 in sponsored prizes. Purchase awards will be placed into permanent collections at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Art Complex Museum, Duxbury, MA; and The Boston Printmakers Collection at the Boston Public Library, the Athenaeum, and the Harvard University Art Museums. Playwrights The Gloucester Stage Company is accepting entries for their Third Annual Festival of New Climate Action Plays. Gloucester Stage is seeking full-length plays with themes concerning climate change. Coastal climate change is at the top of mind here, but they are open to all plays tackling any theme of climate action. Public Readings presented Thursday April 23 – Saturday April 25, 2026. Call for Artistic Responses — The Great Migration & Other Forced Migrations. Castle of our Skins seeks artworks for And, Perhaps, To Bloom (May 3), inspired by Richard Wright’s vision of leaving the South, carrying home within you, and testing whether it might “drink of new rains… and perhaps, bloom.” They invite participatory visual, multimedia, or literary work. Making It Public: for New England Artists Making it Public for Massachusetts Artists is expanding to support artists across New England (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT) and will focus on public art in rural places. This is a free five-week virtual workshop series designed to support artists of all disciplines in exploring and expanding their public art making practice. Workshops cover practical and tactical subjects including community engagement, funding opportunities, contracting, insurance, and more! Making it Public for Artists is designed by Forecast Public Art (FPA) and facilitated by Cándida González. Learn more and register.

Youth Filmmakers Submissions are open for the 29th Annual Do It Your Damn Self!! Youth Film Festival (DIYDS). DIYDS is a preeminent film festival run by the Community Art Center and it is the longest youth film festival in the country. Known for showcasing stories from beyond the margins, and elevating youth perspectives, they are now calling all youth film makers to submit films today.  Learn more.

Call to Artists The Rocky Neck Art Colony is accepting entries for the juried exhibition Emerging Perspectives be held at the Cultural Center in Gloucester, April 10 – May 17, 2026. This juried exhibition presents a focused collection of work by emerging artists aged 18–30 from the greater region. The show serves as an important platform for young professionals, recent graduates and current students from local colleges including Montserrat College of Art, Salem State, and Endicott, offering them a significant opportunity to showcase their current work. Submissions Open: February 5, 2026. Entry Fee: $10 for up to 3 entries. $3 per additional entry

Emerging Native Artists Grant Native Arts & Cultures Foundation’s (NACF) LIFT – Early Career Support for Native Artists program supports emerging Native artists through one-year awards to develop and realize new projects. LIFT provides a comprehensive suite of services, including $15,000 awards, artist professional development, mentorship, project evaluation, documentation, and communications/marketing support – designed to nurture the growth and potential of emerging Native artists as they refine their craft, advance their careers, and establish their place as vital creative voices in their communities.
