NEW Call to Artists The Massachusetts Environmental Trust (MET) has announced a call for art to Massachusetts artists for North Atlantic Right Whale Conservation artwork to be featured at the Trust’s Massachusetts Right Whale Day Celebration on Friday, April 24, 2026 at the New England Aquarium. Artwork must depict anatomically accurate North Atlantic right whale physical characteristics. Selected artwork will be featured in MET’s charitable online auction to benefit the Marine Mammal Conservation Program. Artists can select a 50/50 split or 100% contribution. No fee to apply. Advocacy Add your name to MASSCreative’s FY27 Budget advocacy letter before Friday, February 6th at 5 PM and show lawmakers that arts, culture, tourism, and libraries are a priority for people across the Commonwealth. Learn more.

Artists in Government This program helps artists work together with different City of Cambridge departments. It’s meant to spark lasting changes inside those departments by encouraging creativity and helping staff better understand the value of the arts. It also gives artists a chance to engage with the City’s work, which can inspire their own practice and expand how they see their role in the community. Online Tax Workshop for Artists Assets for Artists is offering “Intro to Taxes for Artists” with Amy Smith on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 1-3PM. This workshop will cover the basics of taxes for artists, including separating personal and artistic finances, Schedule C filing, self-employment versus employment, and tracking deductions. Suitable for artists of all disciplines. 100 participants max. All workshops are recorded unless otherwise noted. All approved workshops registrants will receive access to the recordings. Boston-area Nonfiction Filmmaker Fellowship Through the Film Study Center-LEF Foundation Fellowship, one Boston-area nonfiction filmmaker per academic year receives a $15,000 grant (jointly funded by FSC at Harvard and LEF), access to FSC’s pool of production and post-production equipment, and the opportunity to participate in the Harvard FSC community through work-in-progress screenings, workshops, and other activities. Cross Sector Resource: Tax Preparation for Artists Creative Capital’s Live Artist Lab is offering an online live session on February 10, 2026, 1:00–2:30PM ET. Register to attend on Zoom

Dancer Emergency Grants The New York Foundation for the Arts is currently accepting applications for the Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants program. The program provides one-time grants of up to $3,000 to professional dancers facing dire financial emergencies, due to the loss or lack of recent/current live performance work, because of circumstances outside of their control. Emerging Filmmakers NewFest is currently accepting applications for the New Voices Filmmaker Grant to support emerging filmmakers telling LGBTQ+ stories. The Grant seeks to support underrepresented voices in the film industry, and provides a $25,000 unrestricted grant to 4 emerging directors. Learn more.

Call to Artists Nave Gallery in Somerville is accepting entries to their exhibition We Create Diamonds, curated by Michael Talbot. The exhibit is a call to the creative community in response to the wide-spreading events sweeping the nation. Submissions are open to all mediums: 2-D, and 3-D/sculpture work. The exhibit will run from the March 21-April 18th. Work must be available during this timeframe. Since space is limited, this will be a juried show. Learn more.

Long Meadow Art Residency This solo residency offers artists studio space and housing in the Berkshires for six weeks to three months. It includes a $3,000 monthly living stipend, a $2,500 supply budget, access to a vehicle for transportation, and more. The application fee is $35. Learn more.

Work in Process Critical Cohort (wipCRIT) The Cambridge Art Association’s  wipCRIT program offers small, guided group critiques facilitated by artist and educator Mary Bucci McCoy. This 9-session cohort (February 26 – May 21, 2026) provides a supportive environment for artists to refine their work, develop artist statements, and build lasting peer connections. Sessions alternate between in-person meetings in Cambridge and online critiques, with a visiting artist session and exhibition opportunity at CAA’s Window Gallery. Learn more.

Call to Artists The South Shore Art Center is currently accepting entries for their exhibition Spring National Juried Show 2026: Shaped by Water. The juror is TBD. Entry Fees: $30 for 3 images. $10 for each additional image – up to six total images. Learn more.

Poets  Wesleyan University Press’s Cardinal Poetry Prize. For first full-length books by poets over 40. Open February 1–28, 2026. Judged by Robert Pinsky. $1,000 cash prize and publication by Wesleyan University Press. Learn more.

ALAANA Artist grant program The Essex County Community Foundation’s (ECCF) Creative County Initiative (CCI) is expanding inclusivity by offering grants to support new or in-progress works in any artistic medium by ALAANA (African, Latine, Asian, Arab, Native American) artists. These grants aim to address the historic and systemic exclusion of ALAANA artists from resources for creative work. The ALAANA Artist grant program will provide up to $5,000 in individual artist grants to develop a work or series of works in any creative genre.

Creative Sector Day Registration is now open for Creative Sector Day at the State House on March 3, 2026. Join MASSCreative for the third annual public gathering of artists, creatives, cultural organizations, and advocates from across the Commonwealth to celebrate Massachusetts’ creative sector and to advocate for the funding and resources we need to better support artists. Creative Sector Day will include opportunities for networking, a formal speaking program, meetings with your elected officials, and performances and exhibits from Massachusetts artists. Together, we’ll elevate the ways that the creative sector positively impacts Massachusetts communities, civic life, and the economy. Learn more and register.

Artists Thrive Summit Get ready to energize your creative practice and cultivate meaningful connections at the 2026 Artists Thrive Summit, taking place from March 24–26, 2026. It’s your chance to collaborate with peers, gain fresh inspiration, and make a real difference for artists in your community. The Summit will be held in Lowell, MA. Registration fee: $200. Call to Artists Greater Boston and South Shore artists who create work that hangs on walls are invited to enter SERENDIPITY, the May-June 2026 Open Juried Art Show at Helen Bumpus Gallery in Duxbury MA. Juror is Craig Bloodgood, Deputy Director/Contemporary Curator at the Art Complex Museum. All accepted art must be delivered to the Gallery in person (no shipping). Entry fee: $20 per per entry.  Learn more.

Dance Project Grants National Dance Project Production Grant is currently accepting applications. National Dance Project (NDP) Production Grants will continue to support the creation of new dance projects and provide touring subsidies to the U.S. organizations who bring that project to their communities.  Call for Temporary Public Art Municipalities that participated in the 2025 Making It Public for MA Municipalities cohort receive a $15,000 grant from NEFA to fund artists through a Call for Temporary Public Art. Essex County Artists Grants The Essex County Community Foundation’s (ECCF) Creative County Initiative (CCI) is accepting applications for the 2026 Last Mile Fund, a rolling grant program intended to provide artists with greater access to economic and professional development opportunities whose access to resources is otherwise limited. Individual artists and orgs/groups who live and/or work in Essex County and create with any medium are eligible to apply. The Last Mile Fund is a needs-based program that will provide grants of up to $500. Learn more.

Emergency Grants Every month, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grants makes approximately 15-20 grants in the range of $500 to $3,000 each.  To meet artists’ last-minute needs in a timely manner, FCA’s Emergency Grants panel meets monthly to review requests Applicants may request any amount in that range and, if granted, may receive full or partial funding. The average grant is currently $2,200. Read their guidelines and FAQs before applying.
