Photographers The Griffin Museum invites artists to submit photographs for the upcoming exhibition Landscapes of Wonder: National Parks at our satellite gallery, the Jenks Center. We are looking for landscape images that celebrate the breathtaking beauty of United States national parks. Submit up to three images for consideration. No entry fee. Learn more.

Of Note: Free, Regional Artist Directory If you’re a local artist and you’re interested in “being found” when other sectors come looking, now’s the time to create (or update) your profile on CreativeGround, New England’s dynamic regional creative directory. CreativeGround is free to use and is administered by our regional partner the New England Foundation for the Arts. The directory is searchable and can be filtered by location, discipline, type of activity, and much more. If you already have a profile on CreativeGround, consider this a reminder to make sure it’s up-to-date. For those new to the site, CreativeGround offers tips on getting started and ways to optimize your profile.

Call for Temporary Outdoor Sculptures Entries are currently being accepted for the 27th annual exhibition of Studios Without Walls “Urban Symphony.” This temporary exhibition of outdoor sculptures stimulates dialogue and celebrates the coming of spring through the integration of sculpture in the natural environment. A printed visual art treasure hunt, to further engage children, teachers and viewers will be available along with maps of the exhibition. This will be our 20th year being hosted and welcomed by the Division of Parks and Open Spaces at Riverway Park in Brookline, MA. Fees: Honorariums are awarded $200+ stipend, per sculpture, the amount varies annually. An application fee of $35 is required for each application. You may submit up to three sculpture proposals ($35 each), but only one sculpture per artist will be chosen. Learn more.

Artist Residency The Provincetown Community Compact announces 2026 dune shack residency applications are now open for C-Scape and Fowler Dune Shacks in the Cape Cod National Seashore, available April through November. They offer three 3-week visual artist residencies, one for an emerging artist of color* that includes a $500 fellowship, named for the late David Bethuel Jamieson, a Black artist who spent time in Provincetown and died of AIDS in 1992. Another top juried artist will receive a $500 fellowship with their residency. The Compact also offers 1-week residencies for artists and the general public, and two 1-week funded residencies for writers. Rental Fees: Fowler: $500/wk, C-Scape: $400/wk. Rental fees are due on notification and are refundable up to a month before occupancy. There is a $20 non-refundable application fee. There is a $20 non-refundable application fee. Learn more.

The Indian Arts Research Center (IARC) at the School for Advanced Research offers three non-residential fellowships each year to support the creative development of both established and emerging Native American artists. Each fellowship includes an award of $15,000 to provide support for artists to explore new avenues of creativity, grapple with new ideas to further advance their work, and strengthen existing talents. The fellowships support diverse creative disciplines and can include sculpture, performance, basketry, painting, printmaking, digital art, mixed media, photography, pottery, writing, and film and video. Learn more.

Professional Development for Artists Registration Is Open for Assets for Artists January & February Virtual Workshops. All workshops are completely free and open to artists of all disciplines who are based in New England. Upcoming workshops:

Beyond Arts Grants: Creative Solutions for Project Support with Yara Liceaga-Rojas, Tuesdays, January 13, 20 & 27, 2026 | 12-2PM. After this introductory-level workshop, participants will better understand how they can define the work they are already doing as a fundable project, how to talk about that work with stakeholders, how to integrate care practices when developing a project, and tips for securing the necessary funding. Suitable for artists of all disciplines. 25 participants max. Learn more.

Art of Licensing with Allison Cole, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 | 12-2PM. In this workshop participants will learn about the industry of surface design and art licensing, and discover how artists can get their designs on a wide variety of products by partnering with different companies. Best suited for visual artists. 30 participants max. Learn more.

Cultural Organizing for Artists with Shey ‘Rí Acu’ Rivera Ríos, Wednesday, January 28, 2026 | 6-8PM. This workshop will present participants with various ways in which artists can collaborate with local organizations, municipalities and other partners, in projects that strengthen the well-being of our communities and build more robust cultural ecosystems. Suitable for artists who are interested in incorporating community-based work and/or cultural strategy into their creative practices. 25 participants max. Learn more.

Call for  Outdoor Public Art Applications are currently being accepted for the Seaport Art Walk, New Bedford’s first large format outdoor public art installation. Each summer, sculpture and murals are strategically placed along New Bedford’s working waterfront and Seaport Cultural District. Learn more.
