November 4, 2025 – Municipal Election Day
Fifty-five cities and towns in Massachusetts hold biennial municipal elections in November of each odd-numbered year. All other towns annual town elections each spring. Learn more to vote in today’s Massachusetts Primary elections.

Call for Panelists  Cambridge Arts is looking for people to help evaluate this year’s cultural grant applications. They are offering a $300 stipend to read applications and then attend one (virtual) grant panel meeting to work as a group to select grantees. They are looking for panelists who represent the rich diversity of Cambridge’s communities. People who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ, women, and other dimensions of diversity are encouraged to apply. This year’s grant categories are: Organizational Investment Grants, Art for Social Justice, and Local Cultural Council Grants. Questions, email Director of Community Arts Deena Anderson at danderson@cambridgema.gov. Call for Muralists Allston-Brighton artists of all experience levels are invited to bring bold, site-responsive ideas to life on an 8×12 ft freestanding board—using color, texture, and form to engage, educate, and inspire the Allston-Brighton community through themes of connection, justice, healing, and joy. Call for Artists, Photographers The Hopper Prize was established in order to increase the recognition of artwork created by artists and photographers. Our aim is to advance artists’ careers by providing them with unrestricted financial support that is coupled with a platform for increased visibility. We accept submissions twice a year via an open call. Learn more.

Senate Chamber Bust Proposals The Massachusetts State Senate and the Senate Art Committee are seeking proposals from artists for two sculptural commissions to create portrait busts for display in the Massachusetts Senate Chamber. The Senate has chosen two women who have made significant contributions to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to be the first to be honored with Senate Chamber portrait busts: Elizabeth Freeman and Abigail Adams. The likenesses of Elizabeth Freeman and Abigail Adams will take their place alongside impactful historical figures including Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, and Frederick Douglass. The Senate has budgeted and estimated the cost per bust to be $80,000 or under. All submissions the Request for Proposals shall not exceed the cost estimate. Grant for Fine Arts, Music, Photography The Puffin Foundation grant supports projects of emerging artists and arts organizations. The foundation prioritizes the areas of fine arts, music, and photography that educate and engage the public on global challenges. Learn more.

Call for Art Entries are currently being accepted for MESSING WITH LANGUAGE: A DYNAMIC POP UP Exhibition at Emerson Contemporary. The exhibition will be on view at Emerson College’s Huret and Spector Gallery, Tufte Building, 10 Boylston Pl, Boston, MA 02116, 6th Floor from March 23rd – 26th 2026 with a possible extension. Install will take place from March 20th – 23rd. Seeking emerging artists from across the Northeast whose work plays with, challenges, and reimagines the boundary between art and language. Works can include photography, painting, video, digital media, sound or text-based practices, and cut-up or collage techniques that engage with this theme. Learn more.

Creative Exchange Capacity Grants for Artists The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is now accepting applications for its Creative Exchange Capacity-Building Program, an initiative that gives artists on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket the tools and resources to achieve sustainability for their creative practice. call for Temporary Public Artwork The Glass Town Cultural District Steering Committee, on behalf of the Town of Sandwich, invites artists and artist teams to submit proposals for a temporary, three-year public artwork to be installed on the lawn of the Sandwich Public Library. This project celebrates the upcoming America 250 commemoration and seeks to create a work that reflects Sandwich’s rich history, creative spirit, and sense of community. Budget: $9,500 (including artist fee, materials, installation, and maintenance). Wyeth Foundation for American Art Grants The Wyeth Foundation for American Art reviews funding proposals from nonprofit institutions to support research, conservation, and exhibition programming in American art. Grants from the Foundation typically support innovative exhibitions that explore new research about American art; innovative and important museum catalogues and books; and conservation and restoration of American masterpieces. Grant are typically $5,000 to $25,000. Learn more.
