Call to Artists Join the Somerville Art Fair (SAF) by Sanidad Design. Professional artists are invited to apply for the upcoming art event series hosted at Upstairs at Bow. This is a unique opportunity to connect directly with the vibrant Somerville community. Writers Fellowship The Writers’ Room is now inviting applications for Fellowships in the 2026 competition. The Room will be accepting applications for Fellowships in the following genres: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s literature/YA, memoir, script/screen and other genres. Applicants may make one application in one genre. Fellows receive free membership to the Room for a year (usually July – June) and reduced price membership for the year following their fellowship. Craft Artists National Craft Open Studios Weekend (7/18/26-7/19/26) is a two-day event that will offer guests a rare glimpse into the processes, tools, and inspiration that shape how handmade works are made. Similar to what Record Store Day or Independent Bookstore Day do for their creative ecosystems, National Craft Open Studios Weekend will provide support for artists and makers, and strengthen the national craft community through shared storytelling. This event is presented by the American Craft Council and launches as part of Craft in America’s Handwork: Celebrating American Craft 2026.
