New England Playwrights The Provincetown Theater 2012 Fall Playwrights’ Festival is accepting ten minute plays (10 min. max.) and one act plays (45 min. max.). Playwrights who live in New England or who have a history with theater in Provincetown are encouraged to send a play (one only) with no more than five characters and minimal technical needs. Submit previously unproduced plays only (readings okay). Festival dates September 12-15. Selected playwrights are expected to be involved in the production and be present for at least one post-performance talkback. Learn how to submit and more info.

Film and Video The Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA) is seeking film and video submissions from emerging artists for the 14th edition of Optic Nerve. All submissions must contain original material and must have been created within the last two years. Entries must be with a running time no longer than 5 minutes length (strictly enforced). Emerging Directors and Choreographers The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation is currently accepting applications for their Observership Program. This program provides emerging directors and choreographers the paid opportunity to observe master directors and choreographers on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional productions. Learn more.

Call for Artists  The Celeste Prize is currently accepting entries in which 40 finalist works which will be exhibited in December in Rome, Italy. Katya Garcia-Anton, curator of the Spanish Pavilion at the 54th Visual Arts Biennial in Venice 2011, is curator. Learn more.

Call for Papers Montserrat College of Art has announced a call for papers on Agents of Change: Art as Activism Academic Symposium to take place October 26-27, 2012 with a keynote address by the Guerilla Girls. Montserrat invites proposals related to art that is socially engaged. Learn more.

Curatorial Residency The Node Center for Curatorial Studies Residency (Berlin, Germany) is a program lasting twelve weeks, designed for international emerging curators who wish to expand their professional practice by developing projects in Berlin in a collaborative environment. Autumn residency period: From September 18th to December 11th, 2012. Learn more.

Photographer using cameras of 16MP and above The Hasselblad Masters Award is open to all photographers who have been active professionals for more than three years and who are using cameras of 16MP and above, regardless of brand and format. The “Project//21” Category is open to all photographers under the age of 21. Their term “active professional” means making 51% of your income or more from photography. Learn more.
