New: Free Online Professional Development Class  Registration is now open  for the MITx Arts Entrepreneurship online learning program. The Mass Cultural Council has partnered with Massachusetts Institute of Technology to offer artists and creatives a professional development opportunity focused on entrepreneurship through online classes. This is a free, virtual class taught and developed by MIT faculty. The MITx Courses Arts Entrepreneurship Program features twelve modules and offers two entrepreneurship paths: Small and Medium Sized Arts Business or Intellectual Property Driven Enterprise. Classes begin on March 25, 2026 and run for 12 weeks. Learn more about the program, including how to enroll.

Cross Sector Resource: Veterans Collaborative lists resources available to Massachusetts Veterans including a MA directory of veterans services.

Spring 2026 Learning Circle: Justice in the Rehearsal Room HowlRound is launching a six-week co-learning journey for theatre practitioners to reflect and build knowledge about the way justice shows up in rehearsal rooms. They are looking for a cohort of up to fifteen folks with a range of theatre experiences who are interested in connecting with other values-aligned makers to share their own experiences, learn from each other, and build relationships with an aim toward making theatre more just and equitable for all. Call to Artists Transmasc Boston, a local organization focused on building a thriving trans community in Boston — with a focus on people of transmasc identity is accepting applications for vendors to share their work at the Trans Mini Mart market on April 12, 2026, from 12pm-5pm at New Leaf Espresso in Somerville, MA. The Trans Mini Mart is a market vending opportunity open to all trans artists and makers. Fee: $5-$20. No one turned away for lack of funds. Learn more.

Call to Artists ShowUp, a nonprofit contemporary art exhibition space in Boston’s South End is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for local artists and curators this summer. Roll Call is a series of two week pop-up shows, which will be held at ShowUp from late June through the month of August. Individual artists and curators of small group shows are invited to apply. Albee Foundation Summer/Fall Residency The Edward Albee Foundation invites applications for the Summer/Fall 2026 Barn Residency in Montauk, New York, which offers writers and visual artists a fully funded, month-long retreat supporting focused creative time within an intimate, interdisciplinary community. Residents receive private studios, shared creative spaces, and a $2,500 stipend. Learn more.

Early Career Support for Native Artists The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation announces the open call for the 2026 LIFT – Early Career Support for Native Artists program. Now in its fifth year, LIFT provides one-year, $15,000 awards, mentorship, and professional development to emerging Native artists advancing bold projects rooted in community, cultural sovereignty, healing, and environmental and social justice. Call to Artists Newton Open Studios invites all visual artists and makers to submit work for a curated exhibition exploring Sense of Place, the relationship between environment, memory, and identity. All visual media and medium approaches are welcome, including representational, abstract, sculpture, clay, glass, conceptual, photography, mixed media, textile, digital, and experimental work. Call to Artists The Nave Gallery (Somerville, MA), in partnership with the Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church (CHPC) invites artists to contribute to the curated exhibition, “Uprooted / Transplanted: Stories of Displacement”. This exhibition will present images and stories of displacement, the forced movement of people from their homes due to conflict, violence, or natural disaster. All mediums will be accepted; installations, multi-media and performance art are encouraged. Fee: $20 submission fee per artist. Learn more.

Call to Photographers The Griffin Museum celebrates the craft of photography and the community it serves in its 32st year with their Annual Members Juried Exhibition. Juried by Barbara Tannenbaum, Curator of Photography, Chair of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, Cleveland Museum of Art. The 32st Annual Juried Exhibition seeks entries of diverse themes, styles, and artistry. There is no specific theme. Open to all active member photographers. Entrants must be members of the Griffin Museum of Photography (with a current membership through April 2026). Entry fee: $45. Learn more.

Artist, Writers Residency The Vermont Studio Center (VSC) has an open call for applications for residencies for visual artists and writers. VSC’s open call will offer 2, 3, and 4-week residencies in 2027. VSC offers both partial and full fellowships. More than 40% of residents receive full fellowships. Fee: $25.00. Learn more.

Women@MIT Fellowship The 2026 Women@MIT Fellowship is now accepting applications. MIT Libraries’ Department of Distinctive Collections (DDC) hosts the Women@MIT Fellowship. This Fellowship provides funding for artists, activists, musicians, writers, and scholars who are engaged in the expansion and expression of knowledge to help inform the understanding of women in MIT’s history and the history of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They are particularly interested in those who will apply the interdisciplinary lenses and methodologies of women’s studies, gender studies, and/or race and ethnic studies to their work. Learn more.

Call to Artists The Massachusetts Environmental Trust (MET) has announced a call for art to Massachusetts artists for North Atlantic Right Whale Conservation artwork to be featured at the Trust’s Massachusetts Right Whale Day Celebration on Friday, April 24, 2026 at the New England Aquarium. Artwork must depict anatomically accurate North Atlantic right whale physical characteristics. Selected artwork will be featured in MET’s charitable online auction to benefit the Marine Mammal Conservation Program. Artists can select a 50/50 split or 100% contribution. No fee to apply.
