Emergency Funding for Dancers Are you a dancer in the US in dire financial emergency? Have you recently lost engagements, or been ill or injured? You may be eligible for a one-time Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grant of up to $3,000. Cycle 19 is open through August 12 for essential expenses including rent, utilities, medicine/healthcare, and food. Cycle 20 will be open September 9 – October 7. Bimonthly cycles will follow. Learn more at this online information session on August 19th. This national program is administered by New York Foundation for the Arts and funded by Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. Emergency Funding for Artists Are you an artist in need of critical medical, mental health, or dental treatment? Has a medical emergency impacted your creative practice? The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program provides grants of up to $5,000 for recent, unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies experienced by artists in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, or choreography. Privacy is guaranteed. Cycle 32 will be open August 12 through September 9 for emergencies that occurred February 1, 2025 and after. Cycle 33 will be open October 7 – November 4 for emergencies occurring April 1, 2025 and after. Learn more. Watch a recorded information session. These emergency funding programs are open to artists living anywhere in the U.S., its territories, tribal nations, and the District of Columbia. Artists with disabilities, artists of color, and artists living outside of New York are particularly encouraged to apply. Musicians Music to Life’s online incubator program – the Musician Changemaker Accelerator (MCA) Academy – starting January 12, 2026. Music to Life connects socially conscious musicians with the mentors, resources and training needed to realize their bold visions for community change. Learn more.

Call for Art Entries are currently being accepted for Night and Day, an exhibition at Aplomb gallery in Dover, NH. Submit up to 12 works that relate to either the theme “Night” or “Day” literally or abstractly. Especially looking for art that relates to healing, transformation or reflection. Juried by Gallery Director Danielle Festa. All exhibition entry and commission costs are donated towards The Aplomb Project, a 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting trauma survivors with the healing power of art. Learn more.

Emerging Filmmakers Entries are currently being accepted for the GlobeDocs Emerging Filmmaker Competition.  The Boston Globe invites students and filmmakers under 25 years old to submit an original short film to the emerging filmmakers contest. Winning selections will be screened during the 11th annual GlobeDocs Film Festival. Learn more.

Glass Residency Applications are currently being accepted for the Corning Museum of Glass BIPOC Studio Residency. Five weeks at The Studio exploring new directions in glassmaking or expanding on their current bodies of work while using the immense resources of the world’s leading glass museum. The Studio is equipped for furnace working, flameworking, kiln working, and cold working. Transportation, room and board provided. Learn more.

Furniture Artists Fellowship The Society of Arts and Crafts is accepting applications for the John D. Mineck Furniture Fellowship, a $25,000 in unrestricted funds to one exceptional furniture artist! Use it to invest in tools, training, or time—whatever moves your craft forward. This is your chance to dream big, build boldly, and be supported in the process. Learn more.

Arts and Healthcare Proposals The Visual Arts in Healthcare Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (VAH@BWH) will host an international symposium from September 23-25, 2026: Bridging Visual Arts & Healthcare: Impact, Innovation, and Research. This symposium aims to build community between visual arts and healthcare through an exchange of methodologies and emerging research among health professionals, art and medical educators, and artists. The central focus of the symposium is to advance learning in a community of providers by effectively utilizing the visual arts to improve skills and effectiveness, teamwork, and patient outcomes in healthcare. The symposium committee welcomes proposals from healthcare professionals, art educators, arts and humanities scholars, and researchers, as well as students and trainees. They encourage perspectives that examine cross-disciplinary intersections or invoke theories and non-traditional methods. Email with questions. Learn more.

Guggenheim Fellowships The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation offers fellowships to exceptional individuals in pursuit of scholarship in any field of knowledge and creation in any art form, under the freest possible conditions. The Guggenheim Fellowship supports individuals who have achieved notable success in their careers across the creative arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. It is designed for mid-career professionals whose work is well-established. Potential Fellows have already made significant contributions to their field and are eager for time and resources that will allow them to further their meaningful work. While many applicants are affiliated with an academic institution or university, independent scholars, writers, and artists are eligible to apply. Learn more.

Chrysalis Award for Emerging Artists in Mixed-Media Craft Are you an emerging artist pushing the boundaries of craft through material, process, or concept? The James Renwick Alliance for Craft invites applications for the 2025 Chrysalis Award ($5000) which this year celebrates innovation in mixed-media craft (combining 2 or more materials) This annual award supports U.S.-based artists who are in the early stages of their careers and whose practice reflects excellence, experimentation, and a bold vision for the future of the field. Small Group Show Workshop with Mallory Ruymann This intensive six-session workshop guides ten artists through the complete process of creating a small group exhibition. The course covers all practical aspects of exhibition development including curation, artist statements, gallery relationships, promotional materials, social media, opening receptions, and public programming. The workshop culminates in a group exhibition at the Cambridge Art Association’s East Cambridge Gallery, CAA@CANAL. Registration closes Friday, September 26, 2025. Learn more.

Photographers Boston in Focus, an exhibition launching at Artists for Humanity in January 2026, presents a powerful collection of work from AFH teen, alumni artists, and local Boston photographers, each with their own perspective and truth on the changes our city has undergone within the past two decades. The selected photographs will capture Boston’s beauty and resilience, while also acknowledging the complicated realities that come with urban transformation. Learn more.

Temporary Public Art The Town of Cohasset Planning Department, in partnership with the Paul Pratt Memorial Library and supported by New England Foundation for the Arts’ Make It Public program, is seeking visionary artists or artist teams to design and build two original, temporary public art installations for display from May through November 2026. Creatives are invited to propose Outdoor Reading Nooks, functional, sculptural works of art that will transform the library’s front lawn at 35 Ripley Road into welcoming spaces for reading, reflection, and community connection. With a total commission of $12,000, the selected artist(s) will create engaging, interactive pieces that celebrate learning, creativity, and public gathering. Learn more.
