COVID-19 Relief Fund for Individuals The Mass Cultural Council is now accepting applications to the COVID-19 Relief Fund for Individuals. The Fund provides $1,500 grants to people who have lost income derived from their work as individual artists and independent teaching artists/humanists/scientists as a direct result of COVID-19 related cancellations and closures in Massachusetts. For this new round of funding from this program, we are pleased to increase the grant amount from $1,000 to $1,500. Read program guidelines and apply now.

Webinars with Arts Administrators Arts Administration Association New England is holding a series of “Sip and Chat” webinars with arts administrators from the region. The next discussion is January 28, 2021, 4 PM, featuring Shannon Downey, Art Activist, aka Badass Cross Stitch; Rebecca McGee Tuck, Artist, Art Activist; and Kevin P. Glass Artists The Town of Sandwich, via the Glass Town Cultural District, invites artists or artist teams to apply to create a temporary (3 year) public artwork to complement the historic downtown and Sandwich Glass Town Cultural District. The sculpture will be situated at the intersection of two busy streets, on the grassy area of the adjacent historic Dexter Grist Mill. The installation is intended to be welcoming to the community, while also having a civic presence. The sculpture will be constructed of durable materials, but incorporating a prominent glass element, in part or in its entirety. The landscaped area at the intersection of Main Street and Rte. 130 will connect the neighborhood to the historic district and ideally be interactive and have a solar lighting component. Public Art Mural The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) is requesting qualifications for a new public art commission. The applications will be reviewed by a public art selection panel. The courthouse is within the downtown historic district and adjacent to the Providence Innovation and Design District, which encompasses land made available during the relocation of I-195. Besides visitors to the courthouse, the parking garage mural will be highly visible to residents, visitors, hotel guests, and those employed in the area. The façade is visible from multiple vantage points throughout the city. Through a competitive selection process, one artist or team of artists will be chosen to create a large-scale temporary mural, which will be on display for 5 years. This is a national call open to all artists. Students are excluded. There is no fee to apply, and the budget has been set at $98,000. Learn more.

Call to Artists Gallery 263 invites Massachusetts-based visual artists working in drawing, painting, collage, photography, fiber, and other two-dimensional media to apply to their new Small Works Project. The aim of this project is to present original, quality artworks in our flat files in the gallery and on their website.
