Women Writers Carolina Wren Press is currently accepting entries for their Doris Bakwin Award, a prize of $1,000 and publication, given biennially for a short story collection, a novel, or a memoir by a woman. Learn more.

Theater Artists The Princess Grace Foundation-USA Theater applications are now available. Apprenticeships and fellowships are commensurate with the fee (exclusive of benefits) proposed for an individual artist working with the nominating theater. Grants are awarded to actors, directors, and costume, set, sound, projection and lighting designers. Learn more.

Fellowship for Emerging Artists The Walter Feldman Fellowship for Emerging Artists supports the careers of emerging artists through a solo exhibition and provides them with curatorial support, as well as marketing and business skills counseling. Six or more finalists will be selected for a group show to open in May 2014. From this group show, two winners will be chosen to receive a solo exhibition, for fall 2014 and spring 2015 respectively. Call to Mural Artists Meridian International Center – a non-profit based in Washington, D.C. – is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Community Engagement through the Arts Exchange Program for American mural artists. Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Cultural Programs Division in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) with programming support from Meridian, four American artists will travel abroad to collaborate with local youth and underserved populations on community-based projects in the mural arts. Artists will design, implement and administer a 3.5-week, in-country program based on local community issues for the country specified. Meridian is accepting applications for projects in Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Learn more.

Call for Art Entries are now being accepted for the Danforth Art’s Juried Exhibitions Off the Wall and Community of Artists showcase. This year’s 2014 Juror for Off the Wall juror is Jennifer Gross, Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. Learn more.

Call for Work The Marin Society of Artists presents Fresh Art 2014, a nationally advertised open juried exhibit and sale representing work from all over the country. Entries of all media, except film and video, will be exhibited. Awards of $1,000; $500; $250. Learn more.
Deadline: August 5, 2014 (5pm PDT)
