Boston-area poets and writers, including numerous past Mass Cultural Council awardees, will participate in Writers for Migrant Justice: Poetry Reading and Fundraiser. The event is part of a nationwide effort – including over 40 cities – to raise funds to support immigrant families and detained migrants, and it takes place at Arlington Street Church in Boston on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, 6 PM.
Readers include past Mass Cultural Council awardees Danielle Legros Georges (Poetry Fellow ’14), Natalie Shapero (Poetry Finalist ’18), Martín Espada (Poetry Fellow ’96), and Grace Talusan (Fiction/Creative Nonfiction Fellow ’02), as well as Nicole Terez Dutton, Pablo Medina, U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo, and others. The event is co-organized by awardees Cheryl Clark Vermeulen (Poetry Finalist ’10) and Anna V.Q. Ross (Poetry Fellow ’18) along with Oliver de la Paz and Alana Folson.
