The next discussion is November 12, 2020, 4 PM, featuring Gannit Ankori, Interim Director, Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University; Nora Diedrich, Executive Director, Newport Art Museum; and Lucia Marconi, Manager, Planned Giving, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Call for Proposals The Goethe-Institut Boston opens its unique, flexible space in Back Bay to artists and creative minds as a “laboratory” for ideas. With this Call for Proposals they invite New England’s creative community in the cultural realm to use their newly-renovated space in Back Bay to experiment, innovate, and try out new ideas. Successful applicants will realize their proposed projects in 2021 within a TBD two week period. The available space includes our Grand Hall, reception room, entrance way and stairwell, and two outside spaces at the front and back of the building. In light of the current situation and the restrictions caused by COVID-19, the Jury will be looking for projects that are feasible during COVID-19 times. They will give special consideration to projects that not only take the uncertain and constantly changing conditions into account but additionally find creative ways to deal with necessary restrictions. Art For Racial Justice Grant In response to and to lift up the Black Lives Matter movement, Cambridge Arts’ new Art for Racial Justice Grants will financially support BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists to create work addressing resilience and racial equity. Individuals and organizations can apply for grants of $5,000 to support cultural projects that further racial justice and benefit people who live or work in Cambridge. Learn more.

Emergency Grant for Artists The Artist Relief Grant will distribute $5,000 grants to artists facing dire financial emergencies due to COVID-19. Applicants must be 18 or older, able to receive taxable income in the United States regardless of their citizenship status, and have generally lived and worked in the United States for the last two years. Emergency Relief Funds for Greater Boston Area Visual Artists The Collective Futures Fund, administered by the Tufts University Art Galleries, is offering an emergency support grant for Greater Boston area visual artists. The Fund will award forty $1,500 grants by December 2020 through a lottery system. The fund are intended to help visual artists whose income has been impacted by the pandemic. Learn more.

Grants for Artists Please note: Mass Cultural Council’s Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program has extended its application deadline to December 14, 2020. The LCC Program supports 1000s of community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences annually, with nearly half of the grants benefiting education. Learn more and find your local council.
