Call for Wampanoag Artists The Cape Cod Maritime Museum in collaboration with Ej Mills Brennan, Mashpee Wampanoag and Linda Coombs, and Aquinnah Wampanoag will be hosting a juried exhibition in all media of Wampanoag art, entitled Maushop’s Vision: Maritime Art of the Wampanoag. Outdoor Sculpture/Installations The Fruitlands invites artists to forward a selection of up to three existing sculptures or installations for a juried outdoor exhibition Art in Nature: A Juried Sculpture Exhibition from April 15 – November 15, 2011. Artists are encouraged to enter particularly large-scale works for installation on the grounds or suspended from trees. All works will be installed outside so durability is a major consideration. Twenty selected pieces will be featured in the exhibition. Artists may offer works for sale at the end of the exhibition.

Call to Artists The Cambridge Center for Adult Education invites submissions for Metamorphosis, a juried show of work made from reclaimed, re-purposed, and recycled materials. The show will run for the month of April (including installation and de-installation), with an opening reception from 5:15-7pm on April 1, 2011. The gallery space begins with the first floor hallway and continues up the back stairwell, including a 30″ x 48″x 22″ display case on the second floor. The first floor area includes a 96″ x 47″x 32″ lighted alcove (with an 81″ x 30″ opening) suitable for small scale sculpture or installations. Site-specific works for this space (that cause no lasting damage to the site) are encouraged. Prospective applicants are welcome to check out the gallery space located at 42 Brattle Street in Harvard Square.
To apply, send images of up to 10 pieces, along with a brief statement about each work to jklausner@ccae.org. Artists proposing a site-specific work for the alcove, include a separate description of the piece to be realized, and any relevant preparatory sketches and/or related past works. Chosen artists will be responsible for drop off and pick up of ready-to-show work, and may be responsible for assisting in exhibition installation.

Wearable Art The Cambridge Center for Adult Education invites submissions for a one-day display of wearable art made from reclaimed, re-purposed, and recycled materials. The event will be held on April 1, 2011, 5:15-7pm.
To apply, submit images of up to 5 pieces, along with a brief statement about each work to jklausner@ccae.org. Chosen artists will be responsible for drop off and pick up of ready-to-show work, including a dressform or other free-standing display form.
