Video Essays The Marcus Harris Foundation has announced a video essay contest based on the topic: The need to end cash bail in America. The winning video will not only address the problems with the cash bail system, but also propose how to amend the system within the scope of overall criminal justice reform. Contest winner will receive a $250 prize and have the video posted on the Marcus Harris Foundation’s online platforms. Applicants should be between the ages of 15 and 25. Learn more.

Ceramic Artist in Residence Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill is currently offering a 3 month Ceramic Artist in Residence Program during the winter of 2019 that is designed to provide time and facilities to artists looking for a concentrated creative experience. Free from the distractions of every day pressures, residents will be given time and space to concentrate on their work in the beautiful setting of Cape Cod and will be awarded a shared exhibition in the Castle Hill gallery upon completion of their stay. The residency runs from January 2 to March 31, 2019 and includes housing and studio space for $600/month. Learn more.

Dance Artists Fellowships Dance USA Fellowships for Artists provide direct support to dance artists who have substantive practice of working through dance to address social change within one or more communities. DFA will support artists who are creating work that is relevant to current times, and that tells the truths of peoples and issues in our communities and world today. Artists funded must have dedicated their practice to directly and meaningfully addressing the needs of one or more community(s). Outside of the communities in which they work, these artists may not be well known for the ways in which their practice might inform and inspire their choreography and performance. Fellowship funds would be used at the artist’s discretion to support costs related their practice, which may include the creation of work.
