Grants are available for emerging artists through the Puffin Foundation. Disciplines include art, film, music, theater, photography, and public interest whose works due to their genre and or social philosophy might have difficulty being aired. They do not fund large film/documentary proposals, grants for travel, continuing education, or the writing or publishing of books.

The Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce seeks artists for its Art Wall. The Chamber participates in the monthly Art Walk Amherst. They are looking for painters, photographers, weavers, etc. who have work that can be hung on a wall. Please call or email the Chamber for an application for an exhibit.

Yummy brain food
The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) is conducting a series of free monthly brown-bag lunches in the Boston area to engage in critical dialogue about public art. The session Temporary Public Art, featuring kanarinka, Geoff Hargadon, and Matthew Hincman will occur on October 28, 2009 at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, 41 Second St. in Cambridge, from noon – 1:30 P.M. The session will be a panel format and includes brief presentations from each artist and panel questions from NEFA and the audience.
