Poets A prize of $2,000 and publication by Alice James Books is given annually for a poetry collection by a poet residing in the United States. Submit a manuscript of 45 to 100 pages. All entries are considered for publication. Learn more.

Mass Cultural Council Choreography, Poetry, and Traditional Artist Fellowships The Artist Fellowships are unrestricted awards to in recognition of exceptional creative work by Massachusetts artists. This year, Mass Cultural Council is committing over $1 million to the Artist Fellowships, with the goal of doubling the artists funded through the program. The Fellowship grants are $15,000. Call for Small Works The Cambridge Art Association is accepting entries for their Holiday Small Works Sale. Works for sale will be one-of-a-kind works by emerging and established artists priced at $100 each. From oil paintings to monotypes, photography to sculpture, and everything in between, all created by CAA members and friends. The 2021 Small Works Sale will offer artists and buyers the opportunity to purchase online and in-person, at their gallery at The Speedway. All work will be for sale, beginning at 6pm on December 8, at the CAA’s Charles River Speedway gallery. Online sales will begin at 8:30pm on December 8. Inspirational Portraiture Call for inspirational portraiture for Aplomb Gallery (Dover, NH) grand opening show Stronger and VR exhibition at The Meta Biennale VR exhibition, hosted on ArtGate. All mediums considered but should represent figurative work either literally or abstractly and relate to the theme: Stronger. Especially looking for work that conveys a positive message of resilience. The Meta Biennale VR exhibition, hosted on ArtGate, can be attended with a VR headset or any PC/Mac. Artists will be instructed on how to attend and share the events. The Aplomb gallery exhibition will include select works, require masks and limited, staggered attendance. Artist will receive 70% and 30% commission will go to Aplomb gallery for work sold during either exhibitions. Learn more.

Jazz Masters Fellowship Nominations The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is accepting nominations in two categories, the Performers Category and the Jazz Advocate Category. The National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Fellowship is the highest honor that our nation bestows upon jazz musicians. Each year since 1982, the program has elevated to its ranks a select number of living legends who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of jazz. The Arts Endowment will honor musicians who represent a range of styles and instruments. In addition, one fellowship – the A.B. Spellman NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship for Jazz Advocacy – will be given to an individual who has made major contributions to the appreciation, knowledge, and advancement of the American jazz art form.
