Poets Mass Poetry is looking for at least 3 workshops proposed by community members to take place (in person) at the Boston Book Festival (BBF) on October 29th, 2022 in Copley Square/Boston, MA. Workshops can be lead by individuals or groups of poets. To align with the mission of BBF, preference will be given to poets who have had a book published in the last five years. Please design workshops for unlimited attendance: we’d like as many people to be able to come as possible! Mass Poetry will pay a $100 honorarium per workshop (not per poet). They expect to notify workshop hosts around June 15th.

Public Art Cambridge Arts is looking for artists to create public art for two walking/biking paths near each other in northwest Cambridge, Massachusetts: Linear Park, an existing three-quarter-mile path between Alewife MBTA station and the Cambridge-Somerville line near Massachusetts Avenue and/or Danehy/New Street Path, a future half-mile path between Concord Avenue and the northern edge of Danehy Park. Both paths will be designed to create landscaped open space corridors for play, recreation, and commuting. We invite artists to submit images of past work and biographical information to be considered. They are not asking for proposals at this time. One artist will be selected and commissioned for the project. Once on contract, the artist will develop a public art proposal and implement the project in close collaboration with city staff, the Public Art Commission, and other stakeholders. Project construction is anticipated to take place from 2023 to 2025. BUDGET: $90,000. This budget includes artist fee and all costs from design to installation. Learn more.

Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists Entries are currently being accepted for The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists – Queer|Art. This $10,000 grant, awarded to draw attention to an existing body of work, sheds light on the under-recognized contributions of Black trans women visual artists and provides critical support to their continuing work. Winning artists will receive additional professional development resources and further guidance to bolster their creative development in the field. Learn more.

Call for Photography The New Hampshire Art Association is now accepting entries to the 43rd Annual Jack Parfitt Open Juried Photography Exhibition. All photographers practicing in New England are invited to apply. All work in the medium of photography is accepted, including 3D work provided the work is primarily photo based. Work submitted to this show must be made in the last 3 years (2020 – 2022) and not shown at the Levy Gallery for 1 year. Their juror is Stephen DiRado, photography professor at Clark University. First place will be awarded $750, second place $500, and third place $250. The Lotte Jacobi Award will be presented by Gary Samson and honorable mentions will also be selected. The exhibition will run from August 3rd through August 28th at the NHAA Levy Gallery in downtown Portsmouth, NH and online at nhartassociation.org. Learn more.

Puerto Rico 2023 Artist Fellowships The Studios at MASS MoCA’s Puerto Rico Artist Fellowship Program is a unique program that offers support and access to Puerto Rican artists in the wake of Hurricane Maria and in what continues to be a tumultuous time. Call to Artists ART in the PARK is an annual juried art event sponsored by the Artists’ Group of Charlestown. Since 1998, ART in the PARK has consistently attracted talented artists from the New England area, becoming an extremely popular fine art event. ART in the PARK 2022 will be held in the award winning City Square Park, Charlestown, MA on Saturday, September 10, 2022 (rain date Sunday, September 11th). The Committee will jury and accept applicants based on creativity, originality of the work and presentation. Only original works will be considered. Various mediums including acrylic, oil, mixed media and watercolor painting, original prints and/or limited editions prints, photography, sculpture, glass and pottery, jewelry, fabric, textile and other fine art are acceptable.
