Call for Sculptures, Installations The Jamestown Arts Center in Jamestown, RI, is seeking sculptures and installations for its 2021 exhibition season, late June through October 31. The outdoor exhibition entitled Spacing Out(side) will relate to the summer exhibition in the JAC’s main galleries, SPACING OUT: Expanding the Field of Vision, which contextualizes the work of contemporary artists who challenge the limitations of space. Call for Art The Boston LGBTQAI+ Artist Alliance (BLAA) is a volunteer artist-run organization that seeks to elevate the visibility of and provide resources to LGBTQIA+ Boston-area artists. BLAA is now accepting submissions for their Summer 2021 show at the Distillery Art Gallery in South Boston. Because of the uncertainties of the covid-19 pandemic, they will also be having a digital gallery space to accompany the physical. There is no theme for the call. They are accepting any and all types of work (including video and performance). The theme for the show will be member-driven and based on the entries received. All art that is not included in the Summer 2021 show will be put up for consideration for their fall and winter show. Call to Artists The Hopkinton Center for the Arts presents its 16th annual Arts in Bloom Exhibit in the HCA Lotvin Family Gallery from May 6 through June 24, 2021. The juried show is open to all artists. This year’s show is juried by artist and arts administrator Tatiana Flis who will select six works for awards and cash prizes. Artist Residency Converging Liberations Residency is an experimental, community informed project committed to the belief that artistic practice is key to imagining and practicing liberatory futures. The residency is exclusively for artists, creatives, and community organizers who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color. We extend special invitations to those who also identify as queer or trans, as a caretaker, and/or as differently abled/disabled (and so will use the term QT/BIPoC to encompass all of these individuals). Production funds are provided to feature-length documentary films taking on in-depth explorations of original, contemporary stories and integrating journalistic practice into the filmmaking process. Craft Artists The Museum of Craft and Design is launching a new artist opportunity with Call & Response: Craft As A Tool For Activism, a nationwide online exhibition and artist marketplace. This juried exhibition intends to highlight artists that are working at this crucial intersection of craft and activism, uplifting their political ideals and their communities through their medium of choice.
