Public Art installation proposals are being accepted for the 2009-2010 Artscape exhibition in downtown Pittsfield. The deadline is June 30, so get going. By the way, each piece selected will be displayed for one year (Oct ’09-Sept ’10) and artists receive a $1,000 honorarium.
Commonwealth Center for Change (C3) is currently seeking proposals for the creation of permanent site-specific work in Kirkland Ave. Project in Northampton. They welcome street artists as well as video, light, and sound installations. Their deadline is June 1, 2009.
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is looking for painters to participate in their annual Iron Ranger Painting Program. And what, pray tell, is an iron ranger? The Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District presents the Cape Cod Fine Arts Festival on August 29-30 on the Hyannis Village Green. Paragon Arts is performing a nationwide search of artists and juries for inclusion, with a set of spots reserved for the best local artists. Applications are due June 15. Applications can be found online.
The Northampton Arts Council has a call out for their Landscape: Scene and Unseen, a biennial juried exhibition of two and three-dimensional work and performance art at the Hosmer Art Gallery, and on the Forbes Library front lawn in October 2009.
