Call to Artists Artists are invited to submit work to the Revolutions per Minute Festival (RPM). RPM Fest 2023 will take place at UMass-Boston and other Boston venues in October 2023. Revolutions per Minute festival (RPM Fest) is dedicated to short-form poetic, personal, experimental film, essay film, animation, documentary, video and audiovisual performance. They are looking for any work that experiments with the formal possibilities or hybrid form of film, audiovisual, animation and video under 10 minutes ( and the medium length and essay film categories will accept the work from 10 mins to 30 mins). Call to Artists ArtWorks Gallery, 69 Main St., Ware is accepting entries for their exhibition Flower Power. The gallery welcomes the exploration of floral imagery and the ideas they may (or may not) represent. All styles encouraged: From realism to surrealism to abstract and pop. Paint the Gateway to Cambridge’s Central Square Cambridge Arts is looking for an artist or artist team to paint a two-dimensional design on the surface of a large-scale, three-dimensional ribbon arch that will be installed in Central Square’s Carl Barron Plaza, at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and River Street. The City of Cambridge is seeking a painter who can create a new artwork that responds to the character of the site. The commissioned artist will paint the metal surface of the ribbon arch that will run horizontally and vertically through the plaza. Painting will be accomplished off-site at an indoor space provided by the city. Budget: Approx. $50,000. Learn more.

Call to Artists, Curators CUE’s annual open call provides emerging and underrepresented artists and curators the opportunity and necessary resources to realize an exhibition at CUE’s storefront gallery space on West 25th Street in Manhattan, New York City. As part of this opportunity, selected artists and curators will receive a dedicated honorarium, as well as support from CUE in the form of planning, production, design, and communications. CUE also produces a print catalogue for each exhibition, with a specifically commissioned essay authored by a participant in our Art Critic Mentorship Program. Applications can be submitted through CUE Art Foundation’s Submittable. There is a $10 application fee, which helps support CUE’s programs and operating expenses. Poets The $100,000 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award is given annually to honor a book of poetry by a midcareer U.S. poet. The winner will spend one week in residence at Claremont Graduate University in California. The Studios at MASS MoCA Residency Fully-funded fellowships at MASS MoCA are available for two or four-week residencies, including General Fellowships and fellowships for Black or Indigenous Artists, Massachusetts Artists, Oregon Visual Artists, and Puerto Rico Artists. Call for Artists The New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA) is proud to announce its very first biennial exhibition, Biennial One. For this exhibition, the NHAA invites artists taking creative risks to submit 1 to 3 pieces of their best work using abstract expression, addressing contemporary environmental and social justice issues, working in new media, and pushing boundaries. All media are welcome, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, collage, printmaking, fiber, and digital art. Artists may submit a brief written statement for each of the submitted works. The juror for this exhibition is Lorenzo Fusi, Chief Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Currier Museum of Art. Over $2000 of prize money will be awarded. Learn more.
