Whenever possible, we seek out opportunities to highlight MCC-honored artists in exhibitions, readings, and other public presentations. The following is a list of current and recent MCC presentations.
Current Exhibitions
The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and the New Art Center in Newton (NAC) join together to present the MCC Artist Fellows in Painting, Choreography, Drawing & Printmaking, and Traditional Arts. The exhibition will showcase a selection of the Commonwealth’s most talented artists working in a variety of disciplines. By bringing together artists from these four categories, the exhibition not only showcases a range of talents, but also explores the integral relations between media and movement, as well as traditional techniques and contemporary practices.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and The New Art Center (NAC) will present the MCC Awardees in Crafts and Sculpture/Installation/New Genres, September 18-October 17, 2015, at the NAC, 61 Washington Park in Newtonville, MA. The exhibition will showcase the MCC’s Artist Fellowships 2015 awardees – a selection of some of the Commonwealth’s most talented artists, and will be curated by NAC Exhibitions Director Kathleen Smith Redman. The exhibition runs September 18-October 17, 2015, with an opening reception on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 7-9 PM, and MCC Support for Individual Artists, a talk about state grants and services for artists, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, 7-8:30 PM. MCC Artist Fellows and Finalists in Painting
The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and The New Art Center (NAC) will present the MCC Artist Fellows and Finalists in Painting, October 28-November 15, 2014 at the NAC, 61 Washington Park in Newtonville, MA. The exhibition will showcase the MCC’s Artist Fellowships 2014 awardees – a selection of some of the Commonwealth’s most talented painters. The installation will be curated by independent curator, FLUX.Boston creator, and NAC Board member Liz Devlin in collaboration with NAC Exhibitions Director Kathleen Smith Redman. The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and The New Art Center (NAC) will present the MCC Artist Fellows and Finalists Photography Exhibition, February 28-March 23, 2014 at the New Art Center in Newton, MA. The exhibition will showcase the MCC’s Artist Fellowships 2013 awardees – a selection of the Commonwealth’s most talented photographers. Opening Reception: Friday, February 28, 6-8:30 PM. The Massachusetts Cultural Council is proud to partner with the Cultural Center of Cape Cod for a small works exhibition featuring 2010 fellows/finalists in Painting. 2009 MCC Artist Fellow and Finalist Photography Exhibit

arsenalARTS and the Massachusetts Cultural Council join to bring the 2009 MCC Artist Fellow and Finalist Photography Exhibit to Watertown’s Arsenal Center for the Arts January 14 – February 27, 2010. This exhibit will celebrate the work of local artists Eric Gottesman (Cambridge), Eirik Johnson (Boston), Robert Lewis (Lynn), David Prifti (Concord), Camilo Ramirez (Jamaica Plain), Irina Rozovsky (Boston), Vaughn Sills (Cambridge), and Joshua Winer (Boston). Keepers of Tradition
Art and Folk Heritage in Massachusetts

The National Heritage Museum and the MCC proudly announce Keepers of Tradition: Art and Folk Heritage in Massachusetts, a major new exhibition opening May 18, 2008 in Lexington. The exhibition will feature over 100 works by 70 Massachusetts artists who preserve and revitalize deeply rooted traditions. Reflecting the populace of Massachusetts, their art takes many expressive forms, from Native American basketry to Yankee wooden boats, Armenian lace, Chinese seals, Puerto Rican santos, and Irish music and dance. En Mass
Boston Sculptors Gallery, May 21-June 22, 2008
Don’t miss En Mass, which features 2007 Sculpture/Installation fellows, presented by Boston Sculptors Gallery. Work by Alan Colby, Peggy Diggs, Matthew Hincman, Ariel Kotker, and Nick Rodrigues will show May 21-June 22. The opening reception is on June 6 (First Friday), 6-9 PM. Painted Visions

The MCC is honored to partner with ArtSpace Maynard, who will host 2006 MCC Painting Fellows and Finalists in Painted Visions. This show represents the third partnership between MCC and the exceptional ArtSpace Maynard (a repurposed schoolhouse converted to artists’ work and gallery space). Painted Visions features paintings by Thaddeus Beal, Ken Beck, William Ciccariello, Frank Egloff, Vico Fabbris, Janet Rickus, Sarah Slavick, and Lucy White.
