Mass Cultural Council is honored to announce the 2013 Artist Fellowship awards in Crafts, Dramatic Writing, and Sculpture/Installation. Fifteen artists and one collaborative duo will receive fellowships of $7500 and another 15 will receive $500 finalist awards. See a complete list of this year’s fellows and finalists.
The awards are anonymously judged, based solely on the artistic quality and creative ability of the work submitted. Applications were open to all eligible Massachusetts artists. A total number of 518 eligible applications were received; 139 in Crafts, 144 in Dramatic Writing, and 235 in Sculpture/Installation.
The Crafts panelists were Katharine Cobey, Fabio Fernandez, Seth Rainville, and Emily Zilber. The Dramatic Writing panelists were Rosanna Yamagiwa Alfaro, Sabrina Hamilton, and August Schulenburg; the readers were Leigh Medeiros, Masha Obolensky, and Kate Warner. The Sculpture/Installation panelists were Elizabeth Alexander, Nina Gara Bozicnik, Jo-Anne Green, and John Kemp Lee.
