Great news! On Friday, July 9, 2021, the Massachusetts state Senate and House of Representatives enacted the FY22 (Fiscal Year 2022) Conference Budget, which includes over $20 million for the arts, humanities, and sciences through the Mass Cultural Council.
This is the culmination of many months of effort toward our Power of Cultural Advocacy Campaign. Mass Cultural Council is truly thankful to the House and Senate for this record investment – the highest Agency appropriation since the late 1980s.
Now the budget goes to Governor Baker for his signature. It’s important that he hears from artists about the importance of this investment. Please use MASSCreative’s action platform to contact the Governor and urge him to accept the FY22 Conference Budget recommendation of $21,375,000 for Mass Cultural Council (line item 0640-0300) and to sign it into law.
