Boston Area Choreographers Grant Next Steps for Boston Dance provides multi-layered support for Greater Boston’s choreographers. This program, an initiative of The Boston Foundation and Aliad Fund, supports Greater Boston choreographers creating original work in any dance genre and at any career level, post-college, to move forward and take a next step in their careers. Award includes $5,000 in implementation funds to create or complete a project as well as rehearsal space, expert advice, peer meetings, and more. Learn more.

Call to Cape Cod Artists Entries are currently being accepting for the exhibition Heroes and Villains at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. Heroes and villains come in many different forms: From comic book characters to a favorite teacher to Mother Nature, heroes can inspire us to be better and do better. Call for Artists Applications are now accepted for a project of the Venice International Performance Art Week Co-Creation Live Factory. Founded on the principles of artistic collaboration, cooperation and temporary artistic community, the Co-Creation Live Factory is born to be an artistic experience of a different kind: the concept developed out of the Venice International Performance Art Week’s core mission and its Educational Learning Program. The aim is to empower participating international artists who are selected through an Open Call, to articulate and develop their individual praxis within an independent temporary autonomous zone of co-creation under the tuition of established performance artists. Call to Artists Beacon Gallery in Boston MA, invites artists to take the concept of a “totem”, an item that represents a symbol of a quality or concept (spiritual or not), and to submit artwork on this theme. Chapbooks The Frost Place Annual Chapbook Competition sponsored by Bull City Press is currently accepting submissions. Patrick Donnelly (Poetry Fellow ’08) will judge. The selected winner’s chapbook will be published by Bull City Press. The winner will also receive 10 complimentary copies, a $250 prize, and a full scholarship to attend the Poetry Seminar as well as an optional writing retreat at Frost Place. Learn more.
