Filmmakers looking for funding (but not the ones who have all the funding they can handle and are all like, Sheesh, would you people quit FUNDING me already??!) should take note of two events taking place at the Center for Independent Documentary’s facility in Newton: the Center hosts three workshops with fundraising guru Morrie Warshawski, and the LEF Foundation offers a workshop to discuss Everything You Need to Know to Apply to the LEF Moving Image Fund.
I’ll let the promotional copy take it from here. From the Center for Independent Documentary, on the Morrie Warshawki workshops:
We are delighted to be welcoming back to Boston independent film fundraising guru and consultant Morrie Warshawski.
Morrie will be coming to present three workshops on December 6 & 7, 2008 at our new facility at 93 Border Street in West Newton, MA. Tickets for each workshop are limited and are now on sale. You wont want to miss this opportunity to brush up your fundraising skills and to jumpstart your career!
Register for and read about each of the three events – Jumpstarting Your Career: A Career Development Workshop on Sat. December 6, 10am-4pm; The Fundraising Houseparty: How to Party with a Purpose and Raise Money for Your Cause, Sat. December 5, 6:30-9pm; and Shaking the Money Tree: How to Get Grants and Donations for Your Film/Video Project, Sunday, December 7, 9:30am- 5pm – at the Center for Independent Documentary.
On the LEF Foundation workshop:
The LEF Foundation has recently released new guidelines for their Moving Image Fund. LEF program officers will explain their new funding initiative and answer all your questions about the application process. We will also leave some time to celebrate the season. The workshop is free, but we do ask that you RSVP. Please feel welcome to bring along something to add to the refreshment table(not required, but always appreciated!)
