They say the best things in life are free, and it’s true this weekend.
If you love dance, this Saturday, Harvard Square in Cambridge is the place to be. The Jos Mateo Ballet Theatre presents the 1st Annual Dance for World Community Festival. It’s a one-day event celebrating the power of dance to create social change. The breathtaking list of local performers includes artists such as Anna Myer and Dancers, Triveni Dance Ensemble, Prometheus Dance Elders Ensemble, and BoSoma Dance Company. From noon – 6pm there will be more than 30 free performances and classes for all ages. And for those who really get into the groove, you can take part in the dance party at the end of the day which features live music.
The 19th Annual Beacon Hill Art Walk occurs this Sunday in Boston. It’s a great way to explore Beacon Hill’s North Slope (while burning calories walking up and down the hills looking at the elegant brownstones) and see some exciting work by visual artists like Jessica Burko. Maps will be available at 135 Charles Street.
