Fellows Notes is a monthly listing of the latest news from awardees in our Artist Fellowships Program.
Kim Carlino (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’16), Ariel Kotker (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’07), Sandy Litchfield (Painting Fellow ’06), Thomas Matsuda (Traditional Arts Finalist ’14, ’08), Dean Nimmer (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’00, ’96), Jennifer Simms (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Finalist ’05) are among the artists in a virtual exhibition of Western Massachusetts artists, hosted by Easthampton City Arts, called Post Pause (online thru 1/2021).
Marilyn Pappas (Crafts Fellow ’07, ’97, ’81) and Jill Slosberg-Ackerman (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’06, Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’99) exhibit in the virtual exhibition Accompanied: The Artworks of Marilyn Pappas and Jill Slosburg-Ackerman, hosted by the Radcliffe Institute (thru 1/16). The exhibition reflects on artistic practices shaped by a decades-long friendship.

Alexandra Anthony‘s (Film & Video Fellow ’07, ’87, ’81) film Lost in the Bewilderness is streaming, hosted by The Hellenic Film Society USA (thru 12/5).
Denise Bergman (Poetry Finalist ’14) publishes a new poetry book, The Shape of the Keyhole, this month, through Black Lawrence Press.
Steven Cramer (Poetry Fellow ’14) is publishing a new book of poems, Listen, with MadHat Press. He has virtual reading events at Cary Memorial Library in Lexington (11/5, 7 PM), Lily Poetry Salon (11/13, 7 PM), Lit Balm (11/14, 5 PM), Chapter & Verse in Jamaica Plain (12/11, 7:30 PM), and Concord Library (12/13, 3 PM).
Basia Goszczynska‘s (Film & Video Fellow ’13) has work in Refugia at the Royal Society of American Art in Brooklyn (11/13-12/13). Her Rainbow Cave installation is on view at Hopscotch, an immersive art space in San Antonio, Texas.
Elizabeth James-Perry (Traditional Arts Fellow ’14) has an exhibition Ripples. Through a Wampanoag Lens at the New Bedford Art Museum. The artist and exhibition are featured on Open Studio with Jared Bowen on GBH (11/6, 8:30 PM).
Marky Kauffmann (Photography Fellow ’17) received Honorable Mention in Soho Photo Gallery’s Alternative Process Competition (on view thru 12/10). She has work in the online Somerville Toy Camera Exhibition. In November, her work was featured on the Instagram #todaysalternative collection. She co-curated the exhibition Moved To Act! Demonstrations, Marches, Political Actions, which started at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts and moves to Pine Manor College’s online Hess Gallery (11/14-1/10) and the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center (1/11-2/12).
Adam Mazo (Film & Video Finalist ’17) will have an election day broadcast of Dawnland, his film with Ben Pender-Cudlip, on PBS’s WORLD Channel (11/3, 4 and 7 PM).
Caitlin McCarthy (Dramatic Writing Finalist ’11) was featured in a cover story in Imagine Magazine about her screenplay Wonder Drug and its production with Rhino Films and producer Stephen Nemeth.
Wilhelm Neusser (Painting Finalist ’20) has a solo exhibition, The Sixth Season, at Abigail Ogilvy Gallery in Boston (thru 12/13). Read about the exhibition in ArtSake. Daniela Rivera (Painting Fellow ’20, ’12) has an exhibition of drawings, Stop, at LaMontagne Gallery in Boston (thru 12/1).
Ann Strassman (Painting Finalist ’16) has a solo exhibition, Common Ground, at the Fitchburg State University Art Gallery (thru 12/11). The exhibition is only open to the campus community for in-person viewing, but you can take a virtual tour.
Naoe Suzuki (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’06) has an exhibition, Mapping, at the Rivers School in Weston. The exhibition is only open to the school community but you can view a virtual exhibition.
David Valdes‘ (Dramatic Writing Finalist ’19) play Downtown Crossing will produced by Company One Theatre via Zoom in October. Now, the performance is available to rent for streaming, including with ASL interpretation.
Linda K. Wertheimer (Fiction/Creative Nonfiction Finalist 14) wrote the cover story for the Boston Globe Magazine’s education issue.
Yu-Wen Wu (Painting Fellow ’04) has a public art installation, Lantern Stories, commissioned by the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy and on view at Chin Park in Boston’s Chinatown (thru 11/19). Read about the project in WBUR’s ARTery.
