Nina Bellucci (Painting Fellow ’18), Liza Bingham (Painting Finalist ’10), Laura Chasman (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’96), Rebecca Doughty (Painting Finalist ’10), Anne Lilly (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’19), Bob Oppenheim (Painting Fellow ’14, ’04), Judy Riola (Painting Finalist ’02), Leslie Sills (Crafts Fellow ’95), Vaughn Sills (Photography Fellow ’09, ’85), and Ellen Wineberg (Painting Finalist ’04) are among the artists exhibiting in Goodbye Hello, a collaborative exhibit of room83 spring and the Musa Collective at room83 spring (11/9-12/21, reception 11/9 4-6 PM).

Deborah Abel (Choreography Fellow ’08) and the Deborah Abel Dance Company brought their most recent work The Wild Divine to the 39th Lila Lopez International Contemporary Dance Festival in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, in the premier spot. The tour continued in Mexico City and came to a close with a one week Tlacopac International Artist Residency.
Meg Alexander (Drawing & Printmaking Finalist ’18, ’04) is among the artists in Field Notes: Lovers, Teachers, and the Consciousness in Between, the 26th Drawing Show at the Boston Center for the Arts Mills Gallery (11/1-12/22, reception 11/9, 6-9 PM).
Karl Baden (Photography Finalist ’17, ’13) has a solo exhibition of photography, Mass Ave, Cambridge at Gallery 344, hosted by Cambridge Arts (11/14-2/14, opening reception 11/18, 6-8 PM).
Claire Beckett‘s (Photography Fellow ’07) photograph Lead Insurgent Sargent Ariel Combs is a finalist for the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. It is included in the The Outwin 2019: American Portraiture Today exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in DC.
Steven Bogart (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’15) will direct the play The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis for The Hub Theatre Company of Boston (November) and will direct a reading of Blond Poison for Nora Theatre Company. His film Orange Crush, co-written with Paul Trainor, is currently crowd-funding on IndieGoGo.
Mark Del Guidice (Crafts Fellow ’19) has work in the Paradise City Arts Festival in Marlborough (11/22-11/24).
Harriet Diamond (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’13) has two installations in the solo exhibition Exiled at the Loomis Chaffee School Mercy Gallery in Windsor Locks, CT (11/14-2/2, reception 11/14, 10 AM-1 PM).
Patrick Donnelly (Poetry Fellow ’08) will judge The Frost Place Annual Chapbook Competition.
Rashin Fahandej (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’19) is one of the artists featured in the 2019 James and Audrey Foster Prize exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (thru 12/31).
Ken Field‘s (Music Composition Finalist ’17) Nonstandards ensemble will perform at the Charles Hotel Regattabar in Cambridge (11/12, 7:30 PM).
Samantha Fields (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’11) has a temporary performative public art project in Boston, desires not even our own. The project, which is supported by Now + There Public Art Accelerator and Boston’s Transformative Public Art program among others, will see the disassembling of one ton of used clothing donated by Goodwill. It takes place in a store front in Boston’s Hyde Square (thru 12/1).
Meghan Fredrich‘s (Film & Video Fellow ’19) short film Deborah Harry Does Not Like Interviews is an official selection at DOC NYC (11/7, 9:45 PM at the Cinepolis Chelsea).
Georgie Friedman (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’13) gives an artist talk, Metaphor, Meaning, Antarctica, and the Anthropocene (Oh my!), at Tufts University’s Curtis Hall (11/21, 12-1 PM) as part of the 60th Anniversary of the Antarctic Treaty Celebration.
Jane Gillooly‘s (Film & Video Fellow ’19, ’13, ’07, ’96) film Leona’s Sister Gerri will screen at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge as part of the DocYard Series (11/18, 7 PM).
Basia Goszczynska (Film & Video Fellow ’13) is among the artists who created the collaborative exhibition My Shell Makes Itself at 5-50 Gallery in New York City, organized by the Material Girls collective. Her installation Rainbow Cave and other work is on exhibit at Arcadia Earth in Manhattan. She also has two new works, Legacy Oasis and Legacy Pool, at the Brickell City Center in Miami (12/4-12/8).
Carrie Gustafson (Crafts Fellow ’11) has work in the SOFA Expo at Chicago’s Navy Pier (10/31-11/3), represented by the Vetri Gallery.
Mags Harries (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’03, ’76) has a solo exhibition, One-Legged Table, at Boston Sculptors Gallery (11/6-12/8, opening reception 11/9, 3-5:30 PM).
Laura Harrington (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’05, ’97) will discuss the musical she co-wrote, Perfect 36, in an event called Daring Democracy at Unitarian Universalist Society of Rockport (11/14, 7 PM).
Joel Janowitz (Painting Fellow ’16, ’08, ’79, ’75) has a solo exhibition, Rising, at Gallery Kayafas (11/1-11/30, opening reception 11/1, 5:30-8 PM).
Daniel Johnson (Poetry Finalist ’18) reads this month at Porter Square Books in Cambridge (11/4, 7 PM), Cary Library in Lexington (11/7, 7 PM), and Rozzie Reads at the Roslindale House (11/21, 7 PM).
Marky Kauffmann (Photography Fellow ’17) has work in the Center for Photographic Art 2019 International Juried Exhibition ONLINE gallery (11/2-12/21), and she has a chemigram in Soho Photo Gallery’s Alternative Process Show in New York (11/11-11/30).
Catherine Kernan (Drawing & Printmaking Finalist ’16) has a solo exhibition of monoprints, Time and Again, at Soprafina Gallery in Boston (opening 11/1, reception and demonstration 11/9, 3-5 PM).
Colleen Kiely (Painting Fellow ’98) is exhibiting in the group show The Odyssey Project: An Old Story for Modern Times at The Museum of Art, University of New Hampshire, Durham. She’ll participate in an artist panel talk 11/20, 12:10-1:10 PM).
Ann S. Kim‘s (Film & Video Fellow ’13) film with Priya Giri Desai, Lovesick, will screen as an official selection of the New York City South Asian Film Festival (11/16, 2:15 PM). A Q&A with the director will follow the screening.
Anne Lilly (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’19) has a solo exhibition of works on paper, Abstractus, at Gallery Kayafas in Boston (thru 11/30).
Yary Livan (Traditional Arts Fellow ’12) is featured in a new film by PenhSamnang Kan, which will screen at an event of the UMass Boston Asian American Studies Program (11/12, 4 PM).
Rachel Loischild (Photography Fellow ’13) will present as part of the PRC Nights Series at the Lunder Arts Center at Lesley University (11/13, 6:30-8:30 PM).
Stefanie Lubkowski (Music Composition Finalist ’15) will premiere a new composition, Earth Into Air, at the New Gallery Concert Series‘ 20th anniversary concert 2, 4, 6, 8 = 20 at Longy School of Music’s Pickman Hall (11/7, 7:30 PM). The composer will also be part of a free panel discussion at noon in Pickman Hall on that same day.
Suzanne Matson‘s (Fiction/Creative Nonfiction Fellow ’98) novel Ultraviolet was named a 2018 fiction “Must Reads” title by the Massachusetts Book Awards and is now out in paperback.
Adam Mazo‘s (Film & Video Finalist ’17) film with Ben Pender-Cudlip, Dawnland, is streaming for free on pbs.org in November, part of National Native American Heritage Month.
John Minigan‘s (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’19) full-length play Noir Hamlet will be produced next summer by Pegasus Theatre in Dallas and by Advice to the Players in Sandwich, NH. His short play Closing Doors was named winner of the Honegger Prize at the Firehouse Center for the Arts New Play Festival in Newburyport. The play will be produced there in January 2020 and also has had recent or upcoming productions at the North Park Playwrights Festival in San Diego CA, the Pick-of-the-Vine Festival in San Pedro CA, and Orange Players in Orange, CT. His short play Noise was part of the Without Walls Festival at La Jolla Playhouse in CA, and his short play The Opposite of Monday is part of the fall series of shorts at Core Artist Ensemble in NYC. His one-act Friday Drinks will be part of the culture*park marathon in November in New Bedford, and Thank You, Two will be presented in November by Heralds of Hope Theater in Maryland.
Anne Neely (Painting Finalist ’10) exhibits paintings from her Water Stories series at Cove Street Arts in Portland, Maine (thru 1/9).
Rachel Perry (Photography Fellow ’17, Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’09, Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’04) is among the past Artists-in-Residence exhibiting in In the Company of Artists at the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum (through 1/20). The artist discussed her Gardner residency and the exhibit in WBUR’s ARTery. The artist is collaborating with composer Ted Hearne and director Daniel Fish for In Your Mouth, a theatrical song cycle (from poems of Dorothea Lasky), with Perry creating a real-time drawing installation during the performance, at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis (11/21-11/22). Finally, the artist recently had a print of her work Chiral Lines (Tamarind Tools 1), acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
Jo Ann Rothschild (Painting Fellow ’98) has a solo exhibition, Only Your Loves Matter: Jo Ann Rothschild 1971-Now at The Yard by AREA Gallery (thru 12/31). There will be a discussion and tour with the artist and with curator David Guerra (12/12, 7 PM). Read a review of the show.
Elizabeth Whyte Schulze‘s (Crafts Fellow ’11) work Mapuche is exhibited in the Artistic Legacies section of the National Museum of Scotland. Read about the work on the museum’s web site.
Karen Skolfield (Poetry Fellow ’14) reads with Abby Murray as part of a Northampton Center for the Arts event in honor of Veterans Day (11/8, 7-8:30 PM).
Peter Snoad‘s (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’09) new play Seeing Violet was awarded the Pestalozzi Prize for best new full-length, by the Firehouse Center for the Arts’ New Works Festival in Newburyport. The play will have a staged reading at the festival in January.
Naoe Suzuki (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ‘ 06) is in the group exhibition Innovators @Broad at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard (11/20-1/30). She recently had a solo exhibition, Excerpts, at the Babson College Hollister Gallery at the Sorenson Center for the Arts.
Stephen Tourlentes (Photography Fellow ’11, ’05, ’01, ’95) has a solo exhibition, Of Length and Measures: Prison and the American Landscape, at the Regis College Fine Arts Center in Weston (through 12/13, reception 11/12, 6:30 PM).
Leslie Williams‘ (Poetry Fellow ’10) poetry collection Even the Dark has been published by Southern Illinois University Press.
Yu-Wen Wu (Painting Fellow ’04, ’98) has been named the winner of the inaugural $15,000 Prilla Smith Brackett Award, founded by Prilla Smith Brackett (Painting Finalist ’12), administered by the Davis Museum Wellesley College, and awarded to an outstanding female-identified visual artist based in the Greater Boston area.
