Lillian-Yvonne Bertram (Poetry Fellow ’20), Jill McDonough (Poetry Finalist ’18), and Letta Neely (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’07) are among the artists taking part in the Roxbury Poetry Festival (6/5).
Sean Downey (Painting Fellow ’14), Steve Locke (Photography Finalist ’17, Painting Finalist ’14), Matt Rich (Painting Fellow ’10), Daniela Rivera (Painting Fellow ’20, ’12), and Joe Wardwell (Painting Fellow ’12) are among the artists in While You Were Sleeping, a group exhibition at LaMontagne Gallery in Boston. Steve Locke is part of an opening reception artist talk 6/17, 6 PM ET.
James Dye (Drawing & Printmaking Finalist ’20, ’18), Madge Evers (Photography Finalist ’21), Howard Johnson (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’02, ’98), Joshua Meyer (Painting Fellow ’08), Evan Morse (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’17), Kat O’Connor (Drawing & Printmaking ’18) are among the artists in the ArtsWorcester Nineteenth Biennial exhibition, juried by Beth C. McLaughlin, Artistic Director and Chief Curator at Fuller Craft Museum.
Patrick Gabridge (Dramatic Writing Finalist ’17, ’15), Melinda Lopez (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’19, ’03), and David Valdes (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’21) currently have short plays streaming via Lyric Stage Company’s Walking Plays series.
Hortense Gerardo (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’21) and Magda Romanska (Dramatic Writing Finalist ’21) both have short plays in SpeakEasy Stage Company’s The Boston Project: Project Resilience (6/18-6/30).
Margo Guernsey (Film & Video Fellow ’19) and Khary Saeed Jones (Film & Video Fellow ’21) are among the filmmakers supported by recently announced LEF Foundation Moving Image Fund Grants. Khary Saaed Jones was also named as the ’21/’22 FSC-LEF Fellow from LEF and the Harvard Film Study Center.
Jonathan Bailey Holland (Music Composition Fellow ’19) and David William Sanford (Music Composition Fellow ’19) each composed portions of the score for Death by Life, a new opera exploring systemic racism and mass incarceration, premiering this month with White Snake Projects.
Caitlin McCarthy (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’21) and Shirish Korde (Music Composition Fellow ’21, ’11, ’07, ’01, ’79) are featured in the Worcester Telegram for their recent Artist Fellowships awards.

Linda Bond (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’13) has an installation at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site in Philadelphia, the culmination of a year of work.
Laura Chasman (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’96) has a solo exhibition, Willard and Curtis, at Gallery Kayafas (thru 7/24).
Kristen Joy Emack (Photography Fellow ’19) has a solo exhibition, Cousins, at Gallery Kayafas (thru 7/24).
Dana Filibert (Sculpture/Installation/New Genres Fellow ’15) has work in Wonderscape at Danforth Art (thru 9/12).
Basia Goszczynska‘s large-scale sculptural work The Wash Is on view at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) in Manhattan. A new version of her Rainbow Cave installation is on view at the Ithra, in partnership with Arcadia Earth. She has work in the group exhibition Mother Boat at Pintô International in NYC.
Regina Hansen (Fiction/Creative Nonfiction Finalist ’98) publishes a debut young adult novel, The Coming Storm, from Atheneum Books for Young Readers (Simon and Schuster), in June 2021, with a virtual book launch at Porter Square Books (6/1, 7 PM). See a book trailer.
Conley Harris (Painting Fellow ’86) had a solo exhibition, Entangled Gardens, at Laconia Gallery, in April/May.
Eric Hofbauer (Music Composition Fellow ’09) has a free, live performance at Watertown Square (6/4, 6 PM ET), part of the Creative Music Series.
Daniel Johnson (Poetry Finalist ’20, ’18) joins Anthony Febo at the 2nd Thursday Virtual Poetry Reading hosted by Menino Arts Center in Hyde Park (6/10, 7 PM ET).
Marky Kauffmann (Photography Fellow ’17) has work in Soho Photo Gallery‘s exhibitions Alternative Process (6/18-7/11) and Krappy Kamera (online, opening reception 7/16). She also has work in Photography without a Lens at Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts (6/17-7/9).
John Minigan‘s (Dramatic Writing ’19) short play Mother’s Day streams in July as part of Lyric Stage Company’s audio Walking Plays. His full-length play Covenant is being workshopped in Theatre@First’s FirstWorks program, and Queen of Sad Mischance will have a reading with Wild Imaginings in Texas, both this Spring. A Monogamy of Swans will be published by Applause Books this summer.
Judith Motzkin (Crafts Fellow ’19) has work in the State of Clay Biennial (5/15-6/13) and the 2021 Cambridge Art Association National Prize Show (6/4-6/25).
Kat O’Connor (Drawing & Printmaking Fellow ’18) was named the winner of the Sally Bishop Prize for Best in Show at the ArtsWorcester Biennial, selected by Beth C. McLaughlin, Artistic Director and Chief Curator at Fuller Craft Museum.
Lisa Olivieri‘s (Film & Video Finalist ’09) film-in-progress Recovery City received a $10,000 grant from the Reliant Foundation in Worcester.
James Rutenbeck‘s (Film & Video Finalist ’19, ’11) feature documentary A Reckoning in Boston, recently had its New England Premiere at IFFBoston. The film was featured on WBUR’s Radio Boston and the Boston Globe called the film “an absolute must see.” Read a review in Arts Fuse.
David Valdes takes part in a virtual recording of the Writer’s Bone Podcast, co-hosted by the Cambridge Public Library (6/21 6:30-7:30 PM ET). The episode features an all-star panel of LGBTQ+ authors to celebrate PRIDE Month.
