Jamie Cat Callan reads from her new book Ooh La La! at the Boston French Cultural Center (6/18, 6:30 PM), the Osterville Library Tent Event (6/29, 10 AM), the Port City Women’s Group (7/1, 6:30 PM), the Falmouth Historical Society (7/14, 3 PM), and Where the Sidewalk Ends Bookstore (7/20, 3 PM).
Ben Jolivet‘s new play Fragile Thing Cracks will have a staged reading by Argos Productions at Trident Booksellers (6/30, 7 PM).
Jared Katsiane will have two films screening at the Roxbury Film Festival in June. Big Willow will screen at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (6/29, 12 noon) and at Museum of Fine Arts Boston Remis Auditorium (6/30, 12 noon) with other shorts. Sandy Litchfield has a solo show at the Hope & Feathers Framing and Gallery in Amherst (6/6-6/29, opening reception 6/6, 5 PM).
Holly Lynton won first prize in the open competition of the Syngenta Photography Award 2013. The prize (and Holly’s work) were featured in a special supplement in The New York Times Magazine.
Jane Marsching is among the artists creating alternative, sustainable engagements with the landscape in deCordova’s Sculpture Park as part of WORK OUT (6/15-10/6, artist talks 6/20 and 7/13).
Caitlin McCarthy‘s original TV pilot teleplay Pass/Fail, co-written with Jim Forbes, is a finalist in the NYTVF’s first annual Voice and Vision: The NBC Drama Challenge. Pass/Fail has now advanced to the network for consideration. One winner will be selected by NBC this summer and he/she will receive a development deal with NBC. Additionally, all finalists will be invited to the 9th Annual New York Television Festival as Official Artists and enjoy exclusive opportunities available through NYTVF Connect.
Rachel Mello has a solo show, Cities and Shadows: 10 years of cut silhouette paintings, printmaking, and collage at the Hynes Convention Center Rotunda Gallery, into September. She’s also part of An Alphabet of Inspiration: Artists Celebrate 100 Years of Collections at Boston Children’s Museum, on view through May of 2014. Nathalie Miebach has a show at Gallery Nord, in San Antonio, TX, running all of June. She’ll be the keynote speaker at the Surface Design Association Conference in San Antonio, TX. (Another past Fellow, Janet Echelman, is another keynote speaker!)
Karen Shepard will read from her new novel The Celestials at the MASS MoCA Book Club in North Adams (6/6, 6 PM), Odyssey Bookshop in South Hadley (6/11, 7 PM), Newtonville Books in Newton (6/13, 7 PM), and more.
Elaine Spatz-Rabinowitz is among the artists in Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here currently on exhibit at the Cambridge Arts Council gallery at Cambridge City Hall Annex (thru 6/21).
