Call for Submissions The past week has been tough. The arts offer a unique way to process emotions, events, and everything that is happening in the world. The Bellforge Arts Center in Medfield, MA, invites you to use a creative mode of expression to share your current feelings with the community, whatever those may be—in support, in commiseration, in hope, in caring, in grief. Submit images of artwork, photos, short poems, etc. relating to how you are feeling right now. Selected images will be projected and displayed in a temporary art installation called Expression+Connection, on Friday, July 15 from 5:30-7:30pm in the Bellforge Art Center Chapel on the grounds of the former Medfield State Hospital. The exhibition is free and open to all. You do not need to be present at the exhibition for your work to be included. Learn more.

BIPOC Documentary Filmmakers The AXS Film Fund supports creators of color in documentary filmmaking or nonfiction new media who identify as having a disability. They seek to bring visibility to creators who are oftentimes overlooked. While they ask that a person of color with a disability is a key contributor to the project, they welcome diverse teams to apply. Each year, up to five creators are awarded with grants of up to $10,000 to assist them in finishing their projects in any stage of production. Learn more.

Women Figurative Painters Prize The call for entries for the third iteration of The Bennett Prize is now open. The prize awards $50,000 to a woman artist to create her own solo exhibition of figurative realist paintings that will travel the country. For the first time, a runner-up award of $10,000 will be given to one additional finalist. Women figurative realist painters are cordially invited to submit their work. The Bennett Prize was founded by art collectors, curators, and philanthropists Steven Alan Bennett and Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt. It seeks to propel the careers of women figurative realist painters who have not yet realized full professional recognition, thereby empowering new artists as well as those who have painted for many years.
