Washington Street is an artist co-op with art studios, b/w darkroom, and gallery/event space near Somerville’s Union Square. We seek studio candidates who are interested in becoming active participants in our community.
We operate as a collective, so there is a monthly meeting as well as a committee assignment for all members to help manage and organize the space, help host events, keep the space clean and functioning, etc. We currently have two studios available. One is 230 sq. ft. at $464/month, and has windows facing west and facing north. The second studio is 170 square feet for $435/month, with windows facing north and east. Both studios are on the 1st floor and overlook the scenic commuter rail.
Rent includes wifi and utilities. There are 2-4 steps leading into the building. We have a water dispenser and a kitchenette, restrooms on both levels; the slop sink is on the 2nd floor. No elevator.
Please note, studios may not be used as music practice spaces and our lease does not allow kilns. We are also still masking for large public events.
