The Coolidge Corner Theatre, that art-deco film mecca of Brookline, Mass. (take a panoramic online tour), has a great idea and a unique opportunity for filmmakers: the Coolidge Shorts Film Festival. Each month, they plan to select four short films (5 minutes and under) to screen before their feature films. Established, emerging, and student filmmakers in all genres, including documentary, animation, experimental, and live action, can apply.
Bi-annual submissions will occur in August and February. The first submission period runs until September 25, 2009 (postmark-by date).
So, artists who’ve made films under 5 minutes: I know you’re out there. And you’re great. So send ’em your work! More info on how.
