New Play Exchange Workshop Company One Theatre offers a free online workshop as part of its Open Circuit series: Field Work: Navigating the New Play Exchange. Call for Proposals for 30-Second Video, Animation, Computer-Generated Work Boston Cyberarts and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority invite artists to submit proposals for the 32nd round of Art on the Marquee at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This 80-foot-tall Marquee offers more than 3,000 square feet of display area on 7 screens, providing full-motion video. They are looking for ten 30-second videos, animations or computer generated work, using the entire Marquee in colorful and creative ways. The Marquee is viewed by more than 100,000 pedestrians and motorists from 7am to 10pm daily. It is visible for half a mile in many directions, and is seen by traffic on Summer, D, and Congress Streets as well as from the surrounding hotels, office buildings and the Seaport World Trade Center. Artists are awarded $500 for selected videos. Eligibility is limited to artists and artist teams who reside in Massachusetts. Learn more.

BIPOC Independent Documentary Filmmakers Firelight Media’s The Spark Fund offers support to established independent documentary filmmakers who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or people of color, and whose work on humanities-themed projects was disrupted by the COVID-19 public health emergency. This one-time opportunity, which is underwritten by the National Endowment for the Humanities, will provide stipends rather than project support to selected filmmakers. The Spark Fund will provide 36 stipends of $50,000 to selected filmmakers over the period of one year. Learn more.

Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants The Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants were created in recognition of the particularly extreme impact that the pandemic has had on dancers. The Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants program will initially provide one-time grants of up to $5,000 to professional dancers who have experienced dire financial emergencies due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including lack or imminent endangerment of essentials such as housing, medicine/healthcare, utilities, and food. It will award a total of $300,000 over the course of three award cycles that will run through Spring 2022. The first application cycle is currently open. Funds may be requested for emergency expenses for up to a three-month period between September 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022. Learn more.

Documentary Filmmakers Osmosis Films is seeking submissions from filmmakers and producers for documentaries and documentary series in the development or early stages of production. In collaboration with filmmakers, they will assist in creative development, provide production services, and take projects to market to secure further financing and distribution. In 2022, they will commit up to $100,000 to be invested across 2-3 projects they select. To submit, complete a brief questionnaire here.
