Call for Portfolios: Public Art The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) and Town of Brookline are seeking an artist or artist team to develop a detailed proposal for an art installation for the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline. This call is open to New England-based professional artists, artisans or teams with experience in public art, site responsive design and project management. The art installation will serve as a centerpiece for Brookline’s annual First Light Festival in December. The initial amount budgeted for this project is $9,000, which includes artist fee, materials and installation. A committee comprised of representatives from the Brookline Arts Center and the Town of Brookline will select the artist. The committee will review portfolio materials to determine whom to invite for a second round of evaluation. Up to three artists will be selected for the second round. Artists selected for the second round will receive a $500 stipend to create a detailed proposal. Learn more.

Call for Curatorial Proposals Gallery263 is currently accepting proposals for their next round of Curatorial Proposal Series exhibitions. Their Curatorial Proposal Series program offers artists of all disciplines and experience levels the opportunity to organize and present a polished, self-curated exhibition with the guidance and support of Gallery 263 staff. Available Exhibition Timeslots (approx): August, November, or December. Only New England artists are eligible for consideration: MA, NH, CT, RI, VT, ME for solo proposals. Call to Artists The 2017 Salem Arts Festival has announced an invitation to local visual artists to submit their work for the juried gallery at Old Town Hall during the 9th annual festival on June 2 through June 4, 2017. The juried gallery will be selected by an on-site review process again this year, which will be held the weekend before the festival, May 26 through May 29. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces; at least two of which must be for sale. Applicants will be informed of jury decisions by Sunday morning, and works not accepted must be picked up by Sunday evening or Monday afternoon. Hung artwork may not exceed 36? in any direction (including frame) and must be wired to hang – no sawtooth hangers. Larger artwork must have an easel or a stand. While installations are welcome, be mindful that Salem’s historic spaces come with some limitations. Accepted work will be presented at Old Town Hall during the Salem Arts Festival (June 2 through June 4). Learn more.

Call to Artists The Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) invites artists to submit work to be considered for inclusion in Artist Drawings and Paintings, a five-week exhibition at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck in Gloucester, MA. Each artist may submit up to 3 drawings and up to 3 paintings for one entry fee. The submitted paintings and drawings may be related or they may be completely unrelated.
