Want to screen a short film or video you’ve made? Central Productions‘ monthly Open Screen is just your ticket. So long as it’s 10 minutes or less they’ll show it. Next Open Screen is Tuesday, April 13 at Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square, Somerville. Signups begin at 7pm. Screenings go from 7:30pm ’til there isn’t anything left to view.

Call for new site-specific dance works proposals. Dance in the Fells: 5 Pieces 5 Places is a festival of new, site-specific dance created for and performed within the Medford and Winchester borders of the Middlesex Fells. The project is produced by Two Roads Site-Specific Performance and Dance and is funded in part by the Medford and Winchester Arts Councils. Five selected choreographers will each receive a $500.00 stipend. The performance event is scheduled for Saturday, October 9, 2010, with a rain date of Saturday, October 16. Have you created an image of Medford you’d like to share – or better yet, send via US Post? The Medford Arts Council is producing a series of postcards, each with an image of Medford on the front along with information about the Medford Arts Council and the artist’s name on the back. If interested in submitting your art for a possible postcard, send up to four color digital images of anything in Medford (though recognizable landmarks are preferred), 300 dpi, 5.7 wide/3.2 tall minimum, along with your name, address, phone number, email, and 1-3 sentences about yourself plus 1-3 sentences about your artwork. Selected artists will receive 50 copies of their card plus distribution of their art to thousands of Medford residents. More info. Deadline: April 30, 2010.
Call for Arts & Crafts Vendors at Bunker Hill Community College. Arts & crafts vendors are sought to participate in Bunker Hill Community College’s annual Spring Day event on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. They are looking for affordable items such as photos, prints, jewelry, pottery, and unique crafts. The event will involve 11,000 students, 700+ staff, and local community visitors.
